I got a 7610 from Orange a few days back, as an upgrade... here it is on eBay

Generally its quite a nice phone, but...

1) The keypad is a little annoying, especially those little keys up in the corner.

2) There is no Bluetooth seriel port, meaning the GPRS connection cannot be used on an iPaq This is what makes the phone useless to me.

Umm, I don't know, I only used it for a couple of days... Me having big fingers, I wasn't a fan of it, it was usable, but not to my liking.

I'm finding it great. The video quality is excellent, 10 minutes at a time as well! Fantastic.

I love my 7610! It's the fabbest phone that I've had in the past 8 years of mobile stuff. The keypad isn't very difficult, the only complaint being that your finger sometimes slips on to the '2' key when pushing down on the directional pad. The extras are great, Opera is a superb browser. THe video editor is great. The camera quality is superb! My upgrade cost me £100 though I sold my old phone for £90 so for a tenner it's a bargain!

well i used one in the shop briefly and really didnt like the keypad. Was also told that the 7610 had been discotinued so i thought against it. The d500 seems the best phone i cant get from them at the moment unless others have better ideas?
oh and not the p910/00 because its too big!

It hasn't been discontinued at all! Nokia are still supporting it for software downloads and are currently promoting the lifeblog function that comes with it. You've been lied to.

How did you manage that, seeing no-one else on the internet seems to be able to?

The 7610 just acts as a bluetooth modem! it took a while to get the connection to work, but in basic terms, you simply pair them using the iPAQ Wizard (either explore bluetooth device or use the 'connect to internet via phone' opiton) - then you create a connection on the iPAQ using the Bluetooth Dialup Modem driver... you then use *99# as the telephone number which causes the phone to dial a GPRS connection and in the advanced options you ned to enter a dail-string (each network differs), but this works for 02 ( +cgdcont=1,"IP","mobile.o2.co.uk" )

The same settings works with the Nokia 6230 as well, but the connection keeps dropping which peas me off!!!

Well, no, I'm on the old v3.14

What exactly is your BT problem? If it's that your BT connection drops from time to time, I wouldn't really know about that cause all I do is download my e-mails and check the occasional webpage. It holds out long enough to do that...

Hi, i've had a 7610 since october. The keypad really doesn't make a difference, you get used to it in days. Its got an amazing camera and all in all is a good phone. If you get one with the latest software/firmware then its really good (the ones with the old firmware from july are a bit slow and have less options)

All in all its a wicked phone if u get it free. The D500 may be a better choice. The fact that you can't play mp3 ringtones is a bit irritating (unless you convert them to midi)

I beg to differ. No matter how long I could own the phone, the keys wouldn't get bigger and my fingers wouldn't get smaller

well i'm only 15, so dont have the biggest hands, and i had a nokia 7610 back in september, and found the keypad a b**ch to use, especially when you keep pressing the wrong buttons, i found the phone a little slow to load things when you get a few pictures on there also. though i got ripped off by a lot of money, so had to sell the phone to pay it back, only to find out after selling the phone, they put the money back!
overall, i'd go for something like the samsung D500 ( i really want that phone!!) or the nokia 6230, another very nice phone.
