Cardboard Playsets - Cold War and .... Spoilers?

Apologies if this has already been covered.

I was just poking around some of the online stores to see if any new merchandise has been released and found two new playsets. They're basically folded cardboard backgrounds to pose 3.75 inch figures on, and I think £10 each.

One is based on the recent episode 'Cold War' and comes with a tiny Ice Warrior, and looks like an unsuited version too. But this is the interesting bit, I think.

The other is 'Dalek Invasion 2075'. Although there's been Dalek Invasions before, this is a new year I believe, and would therefore be based on something we haven't seen .... YET.

Although the promotional shots show a bronze Dalek, there isn't a figure actually included, so it could be one of the new Paradigm whatsit ones. It also refers to nanocloud technology, which is certainly not something in any previous invasion, as well as hover platforms for Dalek transport, so it sounds to me like this isn't an homage set for older times.

The Daleks are confirmed for the 50th episode, and I read that there was some filming done with David Tennant in Trafalgar Square, and this playset is based in London.

(and on a silly side note, there were Daleks on Westminster Bridge for 'documentary' film work, a sneaky cover up?)

I realise that not all toys are based on the tv show, but with the other set being so very specifically part of a recent episode, it would seem an odd decision.

I think I'm onto something, or quite possibly not. Guess the real answer will be in November, or if I get a BBC letter asking me to shut up.

Random prediction, the 50th is set on Pete's World where Daleks are old school and blue! Wait, Blue Peter Daleks? Oh, wow.

Hmm, I'm not sure whether this will be covered myself. We did get a lot of things last year about an event where the TARDIS is caught in a time anomaly and the Doctor is stuck in 4 versions of London. They made a transtemporal Sonic Screwdriver for that and everything. This could still be covered, I guess. Also there was that one about a Cyber-Dalek war with the Cyber-Dalek gun. I think these things are just extra stories and that was my first thought on seeing this.

Here are the pictures for it over at good old Blogtor Who:
