Your Top 11 Eleven Stories...So Far?
Here's mine to start with...
11. The Rebel Flesh / The Almost People (Series 6) Amazing plot and the way it's wrote is very clever. The ending was beyond anyone's imagination and the way everything fell into place was just perfecto. 10. Vincent And The Doctor (Series 5) A truly amazingly written story about Vincent and it was so accurate too - kootos to Richard Curtis for writing such an amazing story. 9. The God Complex (Series 6) I love this story mainly just because of the concept, and the mystery - I was extra gripped when the Doctor, Amy and Rory all found their rooms but I guess the question that was really on our minds was, what did the Doctor see in his room? - We'll never know. 8. Let's Kill Hitler (Series 6) Definitely the most jaw-dropping way to open the second part of the sixth series, and a great follow-up of A Good Man Goes To War. It was also great to see Amy and Rory's childhood together and it all just fit in perfectly. 7. Amy's Choice (Series 5) A great performance from all three characters - The Doctor, Amy and Rory. Definitely a great mysterious tale and the ending was most certainly satisfying. But the little Dream Lord teaser at the end made me wonder if we'd ever see him again someday? 6. The Time Of Angels / Flesh And Stone (Series 5) A great Karen Gillan performance here, especially in "Flesh and Stone" with the countdown and how clever it was, and this is most likely the story that made us love the Eleventh Doctor so much. 5. Journey To The Center Of The TARDIS (Series 7) I loved this episode so much that I watched it twice - the best part of the episode for me was with Time Zombie Clara, and the fact that this could have been a third death for Clara. I also loved the Doctor/Clara moment when he 'realized' she was just an ordinary girl. But we know that she's not! 4. The Beast Below (Series 5) The first episode we really saw the Doctor and Amy in action from beginning to end. From the moment we saw this story we knew that the two clicked like magnets and that Karen wasn't leaving for a long time... 3. The Angels Take Manhattan (Series 7) Although a bit of a rushed ending, it's the emotion and build up of the story that made me rank it so high. Amy's last words, "Raggedy Man...Goodbye!" is probably the most unforgettable last words of a companion ever and just did it for me. 2. Night Terrors (Series 6) For me, this was my favorite (in terms of enjoyment) story of the sixth series. There were no complicated storylines, the acting was brilliant and the build-up was satisfyingly intense. I love these ensemble minimal-setting type stories, but I think they were heading in the wrong direction with this series' "Hide". 1. The Girl Who Waited (Series 6) You couldn't argue that this wasn't the best performance ever by Karen Gillan - The story in itself was heartbreaking and I'm emotional every single time I watch it - I can't think of anything about this story that disappointed me even a little. So there's mine...I'd be interesting to here yours too!

I like this thread and as Matt Smith has now over overtook Peter Davison as my favourite Doctor this should be interesting.
11 - The Lodger - Definitely no classic and nowhere near the best plot but for Eleven this story is fantastic, great dialogue and characterisation so it has to go on the list. (Would have been Power of Three) 10 - The Doctor's Wife - Great story by Neil Gaiman and the Doctor finally has a conversation with his TARDIS 9 - Time of Angels/Flesh & Stone - If memory serves me correct this is the first episode filmed for Eleven so is really the birth place, it is a brilliant way to bring back the Angels and is one story I can watch again and again! 8 - The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang - Brilliant finale, I miss two part endings! 7 - Amy's Choice - Made a thread about how much I loved this episode so I may say no more! 6 - Asylum of the Daleks - Best opener of NuWho, I did like Series 6 opener as a plot better but this had everything, the intro to the movie style episodes, The Ponds getting back together and DALEKS! I reccomend this to anyone doubting Doctor Who. 5 - Eleventh Hour - Awesome introduction to a Doctor, and to companion Amy Pond. Sets the scene for the next three series, so a very important episode. 4 - The Girl Who Waited - The Doctor and Rory have great chemistry in this episode. Rory's line "This isn't fair, you're turning me into you" Still remains my favourite quote since the revival. 3 - The Impossible Astronaut/The Day of the Moon - Not only does this episode set a jaw dropping arc with such a shock within the first few moments it also acts as a brilliant stand alone story. Love The Silence and Canton. 2 - Vincent and the Doctor - The only Doctor Who episode to ever make me tear up, the combination of Tony Currans acting and "Chances" by Athlete made me shed a tear of happiness, that's when you know you have connected with a great character. It's certainly in my top ten episodes of all time 1 - Angels Take Manhatten - Another emotional episode is my second favourite story since the revival. The Ponds exit was handled brilliantly and although predictable on how they would finally die, the plot sends eough red herrins to keep me entertained. Great setting. I love River. I love the idea of the book, the answer is right in front of them but they can't read it how frustrating! I enjoyed making that, though this isn't set in stone

Lists - nice:
Amy's Choice The Eleventh Flower Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS The Time of Angels A Christmas Carol Asylum of the Daleks Dinosaurs on a Spaceship Let's Kill Hitler The Pandorica Opens The Doctor's Wife The Impossible Astronaut Hmm... the lists here so far are conspicuously short of those two-parters people claim to miss so much... and that ridiculous robot sheriff story people claimed was good at the time... |

This isn't terribly easy so my choices below are subject to change
! I've counted two part episodes as one story.1. The Girl Who Waited - the only episode where I liked Amy. Great performance from Karen Gillan and great writing for the characters. I love the ending too. 2. Amy's Choice - a great look at a different side to the Doctor's psyche. I hope we see some more of it in future. 3. Asylum of the Daleks - a great story and ending. I loved Jenna-Louise Coleman's performance and was so hopeful for her stint as a companion. This episode and 'The Snowmen' are why I still have hopes the writing will come good for Clara. 4. The Doctor's Wife - if only for Suranne Jones's performance and Neil Gaiman's writing. I'd love to see more of Gaiman's writing translated onto TV/film. 5. The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang - the story is a bit convoluted and barmy, but we're talking about a series with a 900+ year old alien in a time and space travelling police box. 6. The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone - I really like the Weeping Angels and there were some great moments in this story such as Amy wandering through the forest. 7. A Good Man Goes To War - a fun and exciting episode. 8. The Angels Take Manhattan - a nice final story for Amy and Rory. I don't like Amy though I admit I felt a little sad when watching this one. 9. The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People - a well written story that was exciting and had good characterisation. Plus creepy monsters. 10. The Beast Below - I just really like the idea of it, of how people can be complicit or apathetic about certain things so long as it suits them. 11. A Christmas Carol - I enjoyed the bittersweet story and it felt like a great Christmassy story. A special mention for 'The Eleventh Hour'. After all the wailing and moaning about the casting of Matt Smith, I thought that after the first 15 minutes he had shown that he was more than capable of doing a great job. I know that there are some people who still don't like him, but I've loved him ever since this episode. Last edited by BlueZane00 : 30-04-2013 at 22:10. Reason: I forgot 'The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People'! |

1. The Doctor's Wife
2. The Girl Who Waited 3. The Eleventh Hour 4. Vincent and the Doctor 5. The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang 6. The Angels Take Manhatten 7. The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone 8. The Snowmen 9. The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon 10. A Good Man Goes to War 11. Amy's Choice That was actually easier than I expected it to, I like a lot more but there's exactly 11 I absolutely loved. The order was much harder though and it probably isn't definite. |

![]() Yeah, that was pretty rubbish. I watched especially for Matt Smith and to see how RTD would write the Eleventh Doctor... turns out he wrote him just like the Tenth Doctor, with a self-indulgent reference to the Tenth thrown in for good measure ("It always hurts"). |

If I took that one step further and say 'I wish that was a Doctor Who Episode rather than a SJA one' will the forums allow me to still be classed as a fan

I dunno. You're gonna have to address that to the forum gods. Personally I sort of agree with Tom T. It wasn't much cop.
