Basic questions I need answering about Big Finish audios please, the eighth doctor ones... I'm not sure if I will enjoy them or not but I really want to as I want to see... well... hear more of Eight

Where can I purchase them? Or are they free I don't know
How long are the episodes?
How many are they?
Can anyone recommend me some big finish audios to get me into it? What are the best one? People's favourite? And how do I go about listening to them? (Odd ones, listen as if it is a series, listen to stories all at once etc)

Someone is probably going to embarass me now and say they're no longer are available or something

I'm pretty sure they're available. I would google it. You should easily pick up links to purchase from.

I think you're making a brilliant decision. Some of the Eighth Doctor audio adventures are brilliant. They really show off what a brilliant TV Doctor he could have been... Which is why I'm sure so many people want to see him in the 50th.

I personally really enjoyed the stories Storm Front, his first adventure and where he meets his companion Charlotte Pollard. Chimes of Midnight a BRIILIANT piece of audio drama, and Scherzo an ambitious and fascinating two hander. I'd listen in that order.

I'm sure others will have some great suggestions too. There's lots to choose from!

As you can see I have the 10th Doctor's love of the word 'brilliant'.

Although they are the monthly range... There are maybe 20-30 odd in that range (early and I just woke up). All approx 1hr 45 and split in 4 parts as the classic who big finish range does. Main companions are Charley Pollard and Crizz. Charley then spends some time (6 stories?) with the 6th Doctor.

Then there are the 8th Doctor Adventures which is a series separate to that and set later in his time line. He meets Lucie Miller (possibly the greatest companion ever!) and has 4 series (1-3 of 8 episodes and 4 of 10) of adventures all in the format of 2005 who. There is also thr followmup boxset 'Dark Eyes'. These are standalone but with an arc and enjoyed best in order.

I would check out these two links for more info on 8 and then visit www.bigfinish.com to listen to trailers, you can chose the monthly range and filter to 8th doctor or select the 8th Doctor Adventures range. As for cost, BF sometimes do offers (today is 10% off everything day!) but you might be cheaper finding the stories you want and then heading to amazon with the titles.

Section 4.1 will list any 8th Doc stories and section 4.4 is about his own adventures series:

I hope you enjoy them. Paul really does make him a great Doctor, my personal favourite.

Can only echo some of the thoughts already in the thread, but I got into the Eighth Doctor with the Eighth Doctor Adventures starting with Blood of the Daleks two pary story. There are 4 series and they pull you in with story arc's lightly done over the standalobe stories. Lucie Miller is a superb companion well suited to the Eighth Doctor. There are plenty of classic monsters sprinkled around the four seasons and in my opinion the quality of stories improve and mature throughout.

The Eighth Doctor has two sets of series.

The Monthly Range, in which his Companions are Charely Pollard and C'rizz. They each contain about four segments are roughly an thirty minutes long. I've only heard a few of these, but "Chimes of Midnight" and "Seasons of Fear" are good ones.

The second series has him with Lucie Miller. Each story, sans two-parters, is about an hour long. I've heard them all, and there are lots of good ones. "Blood of the Daleks", "Max Warp", and "Orbis" are a few to name.

This series leads to "Dark Eyes", a four-part series, each an hour long, that features the Daleks and a new Companion, Molly O'Sullivan.

All the audio stories I've heard were mostly on Dailymotion, and a few on Youtube. However, they've since been removed. If you try hard enough, I think you might be able to find them somewhere.
