GPRS always on
with gprs set to always on does this make the battery run down more quickly or is there no notable differance to battery time

It will run your battery down more than usual even when its idle but im not sure by how much.

Unless you're sending DATA via these connections there will only be a slight drop in performace. However, leaving Bluetooth on can be dangerous. There are quite a few apps out there that allow people to hack into phones via Bluetooth (I've seen them and downloaded them but never used them). Leaving GPRS open means that data can be sent by applications without you knowing it and so without your authorisation and may cost you money.
So be careful when leaving these connections open .

From a power point of view, leaving GPRS on actually uses less power, if you connect more than a couple of times. In simple terms more power is used setting up the connection.
If you have got GPRS "always on" then you should set the phone to ask you before making a connection. With Bluetooth on, the phone will consume quite a bit more power. |
