Toothpaste for spots and pile cream for bags under the eyes.

it really isn't that ridiculous, i personally don't get that many spots at all, but i've licked my finger and applied saliva to any wannabe spots, my uncle told me about it, some herbal doctor from nearby village in India where my family are from told him about it yonks ago.. anyway, i and my family don't get spots, so maybe it works, or who knows maybe we just have fortunare genes in that area, but even that makes sense.. how many land mammals do you see lick themselves? a lot, and how many spotty faced animals do you see?? there are natural enzymes and bacteria in saliva.. and in toothpaste there are similar properties to break down crap.. so in theory it makes sense.. either way toothpaste smells better than any spot cream or saliva.

though Kenzie isn't eactly spot free. so maybe i'm talking crap. i'll say one thing though my sister who i imagine shares very similar genes to me, refuses to apply saliva, and she gets way more spots than i do, even though its safe to say she eats better than i do, and is all round more healthy than me. so go on everyone lick yourselves!!

I have to confess I've never seen a cat or a dog with spots ~ amazing the stuff you learn on these boards.

I first saw this done in BB2 by Brian and apparently his skin is very good so maybe it does work.

I have heard of it. Maybe its supposed to dry the spot out, and sterilises the spot in some way ?

personally I doubt its a good option.

I would try something like Cepton and wash the pillow case regular with sensitive washing powder etc.

Cats have fur so it would hide their spots. My cat had eczema.

I remember people used to put toothpaste on lovebites to make them fade faster !!!

Also my hairdresser puts neat peroxide on her spots - they disappear fast but so does half of her face with it!

My girlfriend does it.

I've always assumed it to be about as effective as prayer.

Its an old remedt which has been around for years, I'm shcoked you haven't heard of it - it dries out the spots hence why people use it

Never heard of it. I guess Clearasil have been trying to silence it otherwise they would lose sales of their overpriced products. I wish someone had told me when i was 17.

It does work well and makes them fade faster. Just put it on at night instead of during the day.

My sister does it, but my theory on this type of "alternative" cure is this: The cosmetic industry spends millions on research & development every year. If there was something in toothpaste that got rid of spots, then they would distill it into it's purest form and put it in "Biactol" or whatever.

The reason it works is because it's an alkali (not an acid as Kenzie said) and it dries the skin. They dont have to purify it or anything. Clearasil is very similar it dries the skin too, but the difference is they can charge shed-loads for it.
