Just watched the Paul McGann TV movie for the first time, he was alright as The Doctor but I didn't like Eric Roberts or the Americanisation of it all.

It wasn't too bad. Paul McGann was great, the story was half decent and the I don't think the Master was that bad now that I've watched some of his absolutely ridiculous performances in the 80s *cough* Time Flight *cough*.

However, I'm not a fan of the Americanisation, and I just completely ignore the whole half-human business.

Hear, hear! And as an American, I also don't care for the Americanisation (or Americanization, as we'd say).

The man deserves another appearance on screen.

Without a doubt, my friend.

I just watched it, found it a very fun film/episode, The Master's actor was a bit dodgy and the half human stuff was weird, but I didn't mind the Americanisation as much, its the location this adventure took place in, so it took more influence from there, rather than the usual England in America style tv episode. Paul McGann was perfect as the Eigth Doctor.

I recently re-watched it myself and while there was still certain elements I disliked about the story, I found it a pleasure to view as always.

I had no problem with the American setting, I just wouldn't have wanted it "full-time" had a series been commissioned.
