1985 is far from vintage EE. 1986 was the champagne year of EE and 87 and 88 continued this vein.

But the opening year is spent trying to find its feet, a lot of the plotlines are disjointed, and some of the characters poor, these issues would be weeded out toward the end of the year, allowing for the glory that followed.
