Would Love this, especially to see him under a different production team and writers etc. MINUS ROSE!!!!!! maybe travelling around with no companions, but meeting lots of different people each episode.

No. It's not going to happen.

The show itself wouldn't bring back an old Doctor permanently and Tennant wouldn't return full time.

We had that 'lots of different people' idea with the 2009 specials...and it didn't work well then.

It's an almost zero chance that Tennant would ever be brought back for a recurring role... there needs to be room for new talent, rather than relying on has-beens.

Why not? Just because they havent previously does not mean they couldn't now. Also David Tennant has managed to successfully not be typecast as Doctor, and has done lots of different things, Film, TV and Theatre. so knows he could leave just as easily. If you read some posts in the Spoilers starting to come in, there is a fan theory, that could legitimise a return.

Why new talent? there has been 'new' talent for the last fifty years, so this would be new

It wont happen I know, but it is a dream of mine that one day he will film another series, at least we get him back on the 50th, I am thrilled at that news.

Perhaps another way he could appear again is if there was a series of ten and a half minus Rose.

Why on earth would you want David Tennant to return to the role full-time?

Doctor Who has positively thrived on being able to reinvent itself every few years. It's been exciting to see Matt Smith's take on the Doctor, just as it was exciting to see Tennant, Eccleston and all the others. And it will be very exciting and intriguing to see a new actor take on the challenge of being the Doctor.

Tennant has nothing new to show us, having spent four and a half years as the Doctor.

Aside from all that, it certainly won't happen.

Because the show has always been about reinventing itself. I could understand if it was a new idea for a new direction that most people wanted, but bringing back old actors is the sort of thing that leads to "run out of ideas" comments at the best of times, let alone for a full time return few would actually want. It's the reason it hasn't happened for the last 50 years...actors know not to outstay their welcome usually.

Any 'fan' who believes they would bring back an actor who previously played the Doctor in a full time role as the Doctor obviously doesn't actually know that much about the show.

No. No. No.
Did I mention NO?
David Tennant is gone. He was a fantastic Doctor, but his time playing the role is over and he is gone. Time to stop pining over the past and move on.

No.

Asides from the usual it's all about change stuff and so on, I believe that DT has been succesful in other stuff lately and has obviously moved on from DW. It's time that some of the fans moved on from him/Ten too.

Do you honestly think Tennant wants to come back to the show full time in any case? He is building a career away from the show now.

Plus the show is about moving forward, not going back.

Why wouldnt he??? his a massive fan of the show, if tere was a new production and writing team it would be totally different to when he was there. show will still move forward, with a unique twist.

To add on that:

Volcano Day

Deary Christ things are going a bit crazy wazy aren't they? Everyone is falling out, everyone is fighting, everyone is calling for the head of Stevo Moffatio! Because he is a VERY BAD MAN.

He's stopped The Doctors Trainers from posting SPOILERS on Gallifrey Base after leaning on STEVEN HILL
The Doctors Trainers, who gets his SPOILERS from Graeme Harper and SIMON WINSTONE, is furious his pedestal has been walloped. Apparently the LEGENDARY Spoiler Hound has had an "exchange" with HILL now called "THAT" Exchange becoming a MYTH like event. All it was was HILL telling him to stop being a **** and TIT, sorry TDT, (typo! Sorry!), kicking his toys out the pram and stomping off to 60 followers on TWITTER to be a big girls blouse about it.
ED RUSSELL emailed him to complain too. Well, he didn't, but when you say that you look IMPORTANT. He's not. AND KNOWS NOTHING since he was fed woolly mammoths on Paul McGann's TARDIS after getting Graeme Harper drunk. He should stick to photography. He doesn't even tweet spoilers on twitter, just moans about other peoples.
I got myself not ONE but TWO parodies. Parodies which then wrote BLOGS being FUNNY. SOMEONE with a bitter taste in their mouth and way too much time. Hysterical. Scary but hysterical.
EVERYONE IS SO PARANOID!!! I'M A BOGEYMAN. I'M ROGUE CYBERMAN. I DO PORN STUFF WITH PROZZIES. I don't by the by. But because no one knows me, I MUST BE. Well, I'm not.
I even had this mad bastard claiming he knew me, spoke to me, that I'd given great spoilers in the past and I was legit - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EimSSwf1mc Nonsense! Don't trust ANYONE. EVERYONE is bullshitting.
So. Confession time.

Aaaahhhh... you guys! I gotcha! That was SO EASY! Pranked!!! I'm just ****ing with ya! Don't get irate! Those finale and Anniversary Show spoilers? Bollocks! Made up. Absolute bullshit. Series 8 guff? SHIT. NOT TRUE. But I've taken up pages of threads on PLANET MONDAS where ATOMIC BUTT MONKEY has run back and forward from TWITTER telling the BIG BOYS what I've been saying. NEWS FLASH HOT SHOT - THEY CAN READ! What a tit. I've had the holier than thou FARSIGHTED and his GALLIFREY BASE BOYS nodding sagely about how they are so clever and that the WHISTLEBLOWER MUST be this guy, or that guy, or this person here... wink nudge wink nudge. Well, that gave the WHO NAZIS at GALLIFREY BASE a shitload of work deleting threads in case the BBC kick their asses. JESUS CHRIST HILL dry your eyes! I spoke about OMEGA and TIMELINES! Behave! THIS ISN'T MI5!

I'm ashamed of you all. You embarrass fandom. I hope STEVEN MOFFAT pisses you all right off with the 50th. Even if he is a bad tempered, narrow minded, arrogant, smug git. But you guys just make me cringe. I am truly sorry for all the genuine fans out there. Remember - 1000 ********s, eight million fans. The math is easy.

So, unveiling... my name is Natalia Crawford. I live in Norfolk. I'm a former runner and research assistant for the BBC and worked on the series for a while in a very junior capacity. My first blog was true. I am now working elsewhere. Clocks ticking before the scary fans start googling me and checking electoral registers.

Oh, and this is me...

Suckers

NB: AFTER SPEAKING WITH FARSIGHTED I HAVE TO LET YOU ALL KNOW THAT HE IS A SHE, AND A VERY NICE ONE AT THAT. SO SORRY FOR THE GENDER MIX UP. I ALSO APOLOGISE FOR THE HOLIER THAN THOU COMMENT, ALTHOUGH I WOULD LIKE TO CAVEAT THAT WITH A WARNING THAT CASTING ASPERSIONS AROUND ABOUT WHO YOU ALL "THINK" PEOPLE ARE DOESN'T ALWAYS SHOW YOURSELVES IN THE BEST LIGHT. AS AN OBSERVER, IT MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE BULLIES.

For the reason I said: he has moved on to other things. It's pretty hard work playing the role and limits what other work you can do. He's fan, yes. But it's not his whole bloody life. He has done his bit, let him move on for goodness sake.

Also, why would anyone care if any of the classic doctors were in the 50th, BECAUSE it would be a NEW and interesting take on the, doctor meets companion, blah blah blah, regenerate.
