In a lot of ways David Tennant has become the new Tom Baker, as in having fans who are actually detrimental to Doctor Who. Let DT make his naff films and other decent tv shows, and let the show move on! He has, and good for him.

What about Baker in some of the new Who stories?

David was a great Doctor but aside from the 50th anniversary and maybe reprising the role for Big Finish, it would be a reckless thing for the show to do. Plus, it's not a likely thing either.

Why do you think it would be reckless?
If some bright spark at the BBC decided it would be an original idea to make the 12th Doctor physically resemble an earlier Doctor I certainly don't want him to resemble the 10th Doctor, I'd much rather it be the 8th.

I think the love of David Tenants Doctor is huge and I get it. I wanted Tom Baker back when he left but ultimately its wise to move forward. The star is the show not the actor and its lasted 50 years being mindful of that.

Well he's back for the 50th, but not permanently.
I would love to see D.T back and as they only seem to make half a series a year these days he could easily fit it into his schedule
No thanks, he was great in his day (even if he was just that little bit too human) but that day has gone. The series needs to move forward. Everything has it's time and everything ends.

As much as I liked Tennant in the role, I personally think it would be a huge mistake to bring him back full time.
Past incarnations should only come back for one off's, such as the special.
Besides, as others have pointed out, he is a family man now. I doubt he would want to commit himself to another gruelling series of Doctor Who. It was one of the reasons why he left, as he thought he couldn't keep up the pace for another year.
Just enjoy 10 in the special, it maybe the last time we see him in his TARDIS

And any "fan" who dismisses the possibility doesn't actually know anything about television production in 2013. The suits and bean counters won't care that an actor who's played the Doctor has never returned to the role full time in the past. All they'd be interested in is the ratings the show got while Tennant was starring and the revenues they earned from overseas sales and DVD releases. If Matt Smith was leaving and if Tennant was willing to sign for another series, believe me, those suits would rather take the safe option than take a gamble on someone new.
I'm not saying it will happen. I think it's very unlikely. But to dismiss the notion out of hand is, if you'll forgive me, very naive in the current climate.

Yeah, all that theatre work he did, all those different roles, it all just screamed Doctor Who, didn't it? The poor guy, having to play Hamlet with a sonic screwdriver and psychic paper.

He did have a rough couple of years. DT wanted to move into cinema, but the film roles he was offered were terrible. He's now accepted he'll be a theatre regular and telly heartthrob, and that's better than most of us!
It would be a terrible idea in my opinion, and a huge "F.U." to Matt Smith. If we want the show to move forwards, it should be a new doctor, not an old one.
David Tennant got a decent send off, we've seen his story. Time for new stories with new Doctor's.
