I am having problems with the in-call volume of my Nexus 4. Say I have it at 4/5, it will remain at this for a while, however, it does not maintain this setting. When I answer a subsequent phone call, the in-call volume will have reset itself to 2/5. It is quite annoying answering a phone call, not hearing the person on the other side and then having to increase the volume again. I actually returned my 1st Nexus 4, however, this problem is now occurring on my replacement phone as well. Would anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this problem before I contact Google again. I have not made any adjustments to the OS of the Nexus 4. Thanks for any help!

Thanks for your reply. Apart from this problem, the phone is fine. The first phone I returned also had some colour banding. There was a very faint line down the left hand side of the display. Really only noticeable when a light grey or solid blue image was displayed and you looked hard for it. The screen on my replacement phone does not have this problem. Do you think this sound problem may be software related and therefore could be rectified when the next update is released?

I think you should all count yourselves lucky. When my nexus 4 does it it sets it to the maximum volume and I get deafened. I had the exact same problem with my nexus s and it eventually got fixed with a software update.

From what I have read this is not a software fault on the Nexus 4 but a standard feature of the phone, bit like the warning that comes up if you raise the volume when you have ear phones in, Google dont want to get sued if someones overly loud phone pops your ear
