Heshima

You surprise me every week. This week you did a traditional pop song and put your own stamp on it like you always do! I like original material and your mentor does find some incredible covers for you. However, my only issue is that the song isn't really rock. But otherwise it was perfect for me.

Wow, you mean some serious business boy . That was your best performance to date.. or somewhere up there. It's not about taking on huge rock numbers, it's about finding elements of the theme that suit your act and use them to your advantage. You did that! You adapted a pop-rock song to suit your style and you arranged that incredibly. You tried out some riffs and melisma, which I knew you could do so it was about time, you know Amazing!

P.S According to Wikipedia and my knowledge, it's a crossover pop/rock song so it doesn't break the rules..
Talk about those loopholes again...

Yeah I think that's what he means. The real question is which contestant/s is Soppyfan referring to...

Bo Bruce
*standing ovation*
Bo, last week was not good for you at all. You ended up in the Bottom Two, fortunately you didn’t have to sing again, but thankfully you were saved by the public. Tonight I made sure that wouldn’t happen again and with some slight manipulation of the theme I think you stole the show. The vocals were amazing, a really great night for someone who could have really struggled as you’re out of your comfort zone. It’s really important, everybody, to vote for Bo tonight if you want her in next week’s show, we nearly lost her last week! VOTE BO!

Bo

It's no secret I am a massive rock fan and it was a wonderful performance Bo. You and Ruth are and still are my favorite contestants but both your songs tonight have left me wanting a bit. I don't think this song suits a female voice. It was a really nice unique twist on the song but it's a difficult song to do proper justice too. Bo I feel with a different song you could have done better, but it was still a great performance. Remember you and Ruth are still my favorites.

It was alright, not the best we've seen from you and certainly not the worst. I love the song and I was nodding my head to the beat. It was hot then it was cold, then it was hot again. The second verse was the worst however: whatever you did there, don't do it again.

Aleks, this was a really good performance. I think the song suited you well but I think you may be straying a bit from your usual style, just so you know. It could be good or bad, as you have delivered a good performance but you might end up in a place where it’ll be difficult to recover. So bare that in mind, but it was a good solid song choice and good solid vocals so well done.

P.S.

Kuda - you're right it is a crossover pop rock song so it's alright. But it would have been nice to do something that was just rock (especially with Hesh) but you're completely right, people can use elements of the theme and do their own thing. It doesn't mean they have to use a rock song. I just would like to have heard something a bit more rock-like in nature. It was a great version though - definitely one of the top tonight. I like Heshima as well so I just want to bring out the best in him.

Sorry I'm being SO critical tonight (even Danyl wasn't perfect) but I love rock so...

*Standing Ovation*

I HAD to get on my feet and applaud you for that. That's the way to conclude Rock night ladies and gentlemen. It was certainly out of your comfort zone and I had an acoustic boring thing prepared for you and when this song came to mind, I just knew I had t scrap that other one. That was amazing. You showed before that you can do your acoustic stuff wonderful but tonight you proved you weren't a one trick pony. You smashed that!

P.S Bo better watch out, cause somebody is sprinting to that final

Aleks

Wow Aleks - that was great. I really enjoyed that song (it's one of my favorite Lawson tracks so ). I've always talked about how much I love Shayne but I think out of all the boys today you've left the biggest impression on me. I think this song just made you a possible winner. It was different from what you do normally but I thought that song suited you so much! You and Shayne exchanged positions today I think.

Voted and Shayne has gone from middle of the pack to top contender, whilst Aleks was the best of the night!

I am very disappointed in Ruth, she had one of her best last week and now tonight's performance may have very well cost her a place in the next show.

If Pingu didn't keep omitting notes I put on things maybe there would be less confusion. But I don't think Ruth was bad enough to be eliminated (he says hopefully)

That's good to know. I'll be honest more often.

It's weird today because I feel the strongest contenders were the weakest and the weakest became the strongest...I think that's what Soppyfan was referring to as well.

Is Soppy going to reveal who he was talking about? I'm so curious now...

Edit: sorry slow as hell type-writing...I sort of agree with Soppy...but I think the opposite about Shayne.
