I see. I think Cher Lloyd set the blueprint for how an X Factor artist should break the US, Leona and 1D had special circumstances which are extremely hard to replicate, but Cher showed the importance of actually performing the song. I remember that she was on endless radio tours, promo appearances etc across the States and it really did pay off for her....
3 weeks really isn't enough to throw weight behind the song, so now I guess the single not doing that great makes a little more sense, I'm quite surprised that they've spent so little time out there. Apart from this Glee and AI which is great promo for them, there doesn't seem to be much buzz around the song, it could have been avoided had they spent longer out there, I don't think they should have bothered with a 3rd UK single if I'm honest, America is more important for their longevity as a band.”
'Cher Lloyd has set the blueprint ....'.
I assumed that you were joking when you made this comment.
Cher Lloyd has one hit to her name - the other records failed to chart (well if you can call No73 for one week a hit) and an album registering average sales in the US. I would hardly call that any blueprint for success. Even Leona Lewis managed more that that off her debut LP.
Come back in 5 years if she has had considerable chart success and if she is still around, of course.
