I make my own dough. It is easy. Then just go to the market for the toppings and save money.

I don't see what is funny about it. Plenty of people make their own pizza.

Why waste money on frippery?
My flatmate and I made our own pizza in recent months and whilst it was lovely, it took aaaaages to make! Sauce and dough from scratch, all the chopping of toppings etc. It's not something I would do on a regular basis, I simply don't have the time for it.

Sainsburys 10 inch fresh Italian pizza's are on offer for 2 quid at the mo.

The pepperoni ones are lovely and as good if not better than anything Dominos etc sell

10 minutes in the oven, done.

There are cheats to make the time quicker. Some people make the sauce and bases ahead of time and freeze them.

Others use the bread maker and the slow cooker for the sauce.

I couldn't believe their prices - for a simple large pizza they want £12 for it! Even with the voucher codes etc. Ordering pizza online is a costly task!
A premium fresh huge pizza from Waitrose costs me £4.99 - I think it's time to go out shopping!
But supermarkets don't have to pay staff to 'make' and heat your pizza etc and they have lower overheads because of the sheer number of products they sell.

You can't compare the price of a pizza from a large supermarket with the price at Pizzahut

Some people cook for a living or have a cooking component to their job.

Like most things, if you enjoy doing it you find the time.

pizza hut is shockingly expensive expecially when you could get 2 from your local king kebabs for half the price with a free coke can

Only been to pizza hut once. Way back in the 90's.

They put cubes of tinned chicken on my pizza and I've never been back.

It was shite.

The best pizza place in Edinburgh for me has to be Santinos Diner (take away) at The Fort shopping center in Newcraighall just behind the church. Any 12" pizza FRESHLY MADE for only £5.00 with a free can of soft drink. Stuff paying over double that in Pizza Hut for a pizza that is nowhere near as good as the Santino's Diner ones.

I could never justify paying Pizza hut prices, almost twice as expensive as my local Pizza place, a 16" pepperoni £6-£7 and its just as nice.

No, I haven't tried every single hamburger either but I can assure you none of them will taste like McDonalds.
That's some talent you have there.

It's still not a Pizza Hut pizza.
I love the way you talk about Pizza Hut like they are some exclusive 3 Michelin starred restaurant.

Pizza Hut is dire these days. I used to like it as a kid but that's probably cos I wasn't too fussy and seemed a good day out going to HUT. But now it's far too expensive and little to no effort seems to go into the Pizza. Always pretty tasteless...

Will give this place a go next time I'm passing. Which church are you referring to?

I never get my head around the money people are willing to cough up for what is essentially cheese on toast.
Its expensive, but its not just cheese on toast.

Well I decided to get off my lazy arse and go out shopping instead. I bought breaded chicken pieces , mayo, tomatoes, hash browns, Cumberland sausages, bread rolls, and a small pizza for all under a tenner!!! Less a crappy delivered one!
What are chicken pieces exactly?

I cant believe you dont make your own pizza! Its so easy.

It takes no time with a breadmaker. Its even a lazy friday night affair!

I dont get till 7pm on a friday night. 5mins and dough is being made. Then 10 mins rolling, 10 topping, eating by 8.30 for 25 mins of effort and taste a load nicer.

Yeah i dont work

What you make is a PIZZA, not a Pizza Hut pizza.
Which is a massive bonus because Pizza Hut pizza's are bloody awful.

There is only one Church in Newcraighall, just at the roundabout where Boots is. It is called the Church Arts Centre and Santino's is the big red converted caravan just at the side. You will not be disapointed! Please remember that as this stuff tastes so good at such cheap prices he is pretty popular & can get busy at times, especially around lunchtime. It is WELL worth the wait! I just stay around the corner from this place & have to visit 4/5 times a week!
