What are the chances of "The Name Of The Doctor" ending in a cliffhanger leading into The 50th Anniversary.

I'm hoping (and think) the 50th will be something unrelated to the finale!

I don't mean the stories will be related just that the end scene will lead into the 50th maybe something even like on board the TARDIS we head the sound of another TARDIS landing

Don't really want to know the Doctors name, he is Doctor Who as he has been since we have been watching his story for the last 50 years.
Just think how disappointed if he was Fred or Reggie etc

Well it's probably not Fred or Reggie. I don't understand why people care so much. Superman has a real name and no one could care less.

I think it's the significance of his name rather than his actual name.

i very much doubt we will know his name.

But if Moffat keeps teasing the reveal, then obviously I want a reveal.

The show is called Doctor who, no one knows his name.

We should never know his name.

Says you. If the plot of the 50th anniversary of the show is based on revealing a single word then I want to bloody hear it.

no it promises to reveal the Doctor's greatest secret and will change the face of Doctor who forever.

Nowhere (apart from the name of the finale) does it promise to reveal his name.

And I hardly feel revealing his name would ever live up to the hype, it would be impossible.

I think if they are going to reveal the name of the Doctor then every living Showrunner as far back as they can go should be involved in coming up with the name, I don't think it should just be down to Moffett because each one will have their own ideas what the name should be and its a bit unfair on them because they could of quite easily revealed it but kept it a secret and then just because Moff is around for the 50th he gets the privilege of coming up with it...

They could also have the 10th Doctor in it even if he's not seen.

The TARDIS door opens and he hear someone run in

Clara>Who's that

The 11th Doctor> Me

What hype? The only hype around here is the "please don't reveal his name" hype.

Very likely and probable. Not original at all

At the end of the day what name could you possibly give the Doctor that would make you go wow and blow your mind?

There isn't, it will just disappoint people.

Thank goodness you don't write for this show.

Why has this thread turned into another thread about revealing The Doctors name?

I'm getting a bit fed up with that subject now it seems most threads ever turn into it

NO ONE is expecting it to blow their mind. It's just a name. Superman has one, The Janitor on Scrubs and Big on Sex and the City got one in the shows' final episode and it didn't affect the plot in ANY WAY. Doctor Who has the opportunity of actually using the reveal to advance the plot and mark 50 years of the show, it would be foolish not to use it. I repeat, it's just a name. Why fret over someone possibly being disappointed? I don't give a crap.

What did you expect? What else could possibly be the cliffhanger in "The Name of the Doctor" featuring Trenzalore?

I'm expecting that storyline to be over by the end of that episode and the 50th will be nothing to do with it but we will get a cliffhanger leading us into it.

A example would be the Titanic crashing into the TARDIS at the end of Last of the Time Lords/Time Crash leading us into Voyage of the Damned

But the reveal, whatever it is exactly, is said to be the game changer. And Moffat has been teasing "the oldest question in the universe" for ages now, I doubt it's something that will get resolved quickly with a completely random cliffhanger.

I hope there's not too much of a cliffhanger as there's a six month gap before the next episode!

That kind of makes it all the more important.
