I'm from Pontefract and the Doctor mentioned Pontefract cakes at the end of the episode (its our most famous export). For anyone who doesn't know there not a cake or biscuit but a really really old sweet.


Oh well not that interesting for anyone outside of pontefract but I just had to post my joy on hearing it.

Oh I'm so with you on this one. I can remember as a 11 year old hearing Cromer (my home town) mentioned in the Three Doctors all those years ago. It was a joy then and it's still a joy now.

I wish my town got a mention, since filming has taken place just outside of it.

Pontefract cakes are lovely. The proper ones. Not the very cheap ones that aren't properly chewy. And Pontefract is a good place name, sounds nice. As does Cromer.

I enjoyed hearing the slating that Bradford got. Much deserved.

Newport got a mention in torchwood. The welcome to Newport
accidentally was in focus in the cybermen epesodes when it was meant to be London. Does that count?

Not my home Town but I did live there for many years, never been back since though
