PVR9300t rebooting / resetting constantly
poh000
05-05-2013
My PVR9300t is a few months out of warranty (typical, ) and has started playing up.

Periodically, it would reboot itself, but would then be okay for a while. However, it is now in a constant cycle of rebooting: a completely black screen, followed by the message "LOADER VERSION a4.38 - LOAD APPLICATION" with a progress bar increasing towards 100%, and then the black screen reappears. This process repeats every minute or so.

I have tried turning it off at the mains, removing the aerial feed, and restarting (as per a previous post on this forum), but the same thing happens.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I think you have done the obvious things. Two suggestions; you might try registering at http://myhumax.org and posting the problem there; in some cases it is possible to fix these sort of problems with a special type of software update file that will reset the box to default settings; I believe that Barry (the administrator of MyHumax) may be able to supply it (or you could try asking Humax support). Alternatively you could try opening the box (with the power off) and disconnecting the hard drive. If the box will boot and function as a normal set top box without a disk then the problem may be a corrupt file system (or indeed a corrupt file). If this is the case you could fomat the drive in a PC (optionally you could copy off recordings before formatting with humaxrw) and then put it back in the Humax which will then format it to its own file system.
