Well, judging by the time of day you posted this, you have all day today to get in some spaghetti!

And, anyway, DAMN you are cooking dinner early! I havent even thought about BREAKFAST yet, let alone dinner!

My biggest cooking fail was trying to make fried rice using warm rice. I didn't bother to look up a recipe as I thought how hard could it really be - the clue's in the name, surely ?

I kept telling myself that the congealed ball of rice and ingredients would sort itself out . Obviously it didn't and I am now perfectly capable of making the dish perfectly .

I well overcooked about 15KG of rice once when I worked as a chef, it was like rice pudding but made with long grain rice. I got one big bollocking for that so I made sure I never did it again!

^^ LOL, that's awful!

When I was about ten, my dad rang me from work and told me to stick a large potato in the microwave for 20 mins. I did so, and I carried on about my business in bedroom/lounge. Started to smell burning, went to the kitchen to find lots of smoke coming from the microwave - the potato was on fire!!

I don't see why you didn't have the bolognaise with chips or rice. Sure, you might have been looking forward to pasta but if you don't have any there's no need to go without the part of the meal that has the flavour.

Oh for goodness sake, a typical DS drama queen thread. Unless you live in the Brazilian rainforest I doubt you'll have too many problems finding somewhere which sells pasta. Just bloody get on with it instead of creating these silly time wasting threads.

I once tried to make a sponge cake with splenda instead of sugar. Turned out flat and revolting.

Only last week, I had a cooking disaster!! I decided to make Beef Stroganof and followed the instructions in the recipe to the letter, but apparently theres different varieties of paprika and I had the smoked pungent variety(which I had to include with the coating flour for the meat). Anyway, when it came to eat the final product, I just couldnt stomache it!! It tasted revolting!!

I think the recipe called for the normal variety of paprika which is less strong in flavour than the smoked variety!!

Did you leave it on too long or did it catch on fire because you didn't prick it with a fork?

Bloody hell chill out and stop talking to them like they just smacked you in the face and leave the thread if you're that hurt by it! And then take anger management classes....

Anyway... Mine are:

I tried to microwave an easter egg
I forgot to take a metal fork out of the microwave when I put it on (didn't realise you had to as I was young)
Overcooked rice

I can't remember if I pricked it...probably not. I would've done if instructed, I was only young! 20mins was way too long for a nuked potato, i think it wasn't actually that big, and thinking about it, I guess unpricked would've caused it to get hotter.

Very irresponsible of my dad! Could've burned the house down!

Yeah a 10 year old shouldn't be asked to do that lol, I think I've done big potatoes in the microwave in about 7 minutes

Catching a boiling hot jug of gravy that I'd knocked off the sideboard. If only I'd let it smash on the floor

I can't think of any major fails. I did set a kitchen cloth on fire once but that's as bad as it gets.

Someone l lived with left their chips in overnight and they did set on fire. Early morning smoke alarm had everyone up bright and early, except the inebriate who put in the chips.

Remember not to pickup a spanking hot cast iron pan with a damp cloth
