Can you do the same as I suggested on the chattery thread? Introduce kennels slowly? An over night stay, then a couple of days etc, it will be better for you all in the long run, then you'll know he's safe when your away.

I really dont think a dog is safer in the kennels then in his own home with a person who likes him. I read stories of kennels not doing what the owner wants, they just do what they normally do, walk more then 1 dog at a time and let them off too.

I think it depends on the kennels. But I'd rather have a dog safe in a kennels than at home with so done they don't know who doesn't know how likely they are to run off, what the roads etc etc.

I've worked in a lot of kennels and have never walked or exercised 2 different families dogs, in crèche facilities yes, but the owners sign to confirm that is ok, otherwise they breach insurances and if anything happened the kennels would be in serious stick. Not saying it doesn't happen but a respectable kennels with a good rep are a good bet.

As you say it depents on the kennels, I just think a family member is the ideal solution.
