This yr a black women was the first to get fired so is it that sir Alan is racist and only wants white/british only people to work with him as never any asian/black or any other kind are hired and always a white/british born person always gets hired

Not at all, they are just not very good, Tim Campbell was the first winner and there was Saira (or some thing ) she did well.Thats just off the top of my head. He made his first BIG mistake in employing Michelle ahead of Ruth. All looks over substance. I think this years batch is heading the same way.

I think you are trying too hard to be controversial, and failing miserably. The fact that you can't even be bothered to check the facts shows this.

He also offered Saira a job, even though she didn't win. Also Yasmina is half-Iranian.

What I would say is he/the producers are sexist, going by how they split the groups by gender every year.

Old fashioned - very - but in a particular way that credits particular attributes he thinks he has and ignores other's he doesn't value.

He's gone with and supported his fair share of ethnic minority candidates. He's not very good at allowing for different cultural attitudes though, and if those people fall into types he doesn't like (quiet, invisible but efficent types, and argumentative assertive types who talk too much) they tend to do disproportionately badly.

There's another problem that the producers tend to pick quiet Asians who get unfairly removed for doing nothing, and there's been a high number of recent not very able black candidates. The show spreads the unfairness around on other grounds too though and has lots of other stock types too - including the public school stereotypes, and the selfmade man whose parts were poorly assembled, and the boaster salesmen whose self hype is inverse to their ability.

I quite liked Raef but apart from him the standard has been poor.

Michelle wasn't a mistake. There was nothing in their show records, and Michelle was the one with the wider range of skills, who had already done a lot more of the things required to set up the new concern he wanted to set up.It was hardly her fault it was a dud idea that couldn't be made viable.

Firing Duane so early last season was a massive mistake

I think its nonsense.
The candidate I think SA liked most was Joanna , who was black, and a thoroughly likeable girl. She got the most charming and complimentary firing ever.

In his position I'd sack the lot of them on the first episode, regardless of race, sex, whatever. What a crowd of talentless gobshites

Well there were 3 "minority" women up for the chop in the first ep so... no win situation there. And no, to answer the question,

It's possible that the production may be racist in selecting only crap black people to go on but I doubt it. The nature of the programme encourages the casting decisions to be of provocative characters and encourages the candidates to big up themselves in an unattractive way. The black lady who went last night deserved to go, as did the white man who went tonight.

Oh, and Dara O'Brain lamented last night that the Irish candidates always get the chop. He didn't suggest though, that Suralan dislikes Irish people (and I'm hoping that Leah takes it this year, as she';s my current favourite)

Exactly. He had to pick from a Chinese woman, Asian woman and a black/mixed-race woman to 'fire' on the first show. Jaz was the one who brought the other two women into the boardroom with her, Alan didn't select them.

Also, as already mentioned, Tim (a black guy) won the very first series and Saira came second (I think) on the series she was in. The OP is obviously trying to be controversial for the sake of it.

I don't think Sugar is racist. He's possibly a little sexist.

I think Sugar's main prejudice is one against academic types; he seems to prefer people from a similar background to himself - not well qualified on paper and from a working class background.

Noooo. He always had a soft spot for Tre! Gave him quite a few chances. Syed too.

And wasn't the first winner of Junior Apprentice an Asian lad?

There just haven't been that many high calibre ethnic minority candidates. And that's down to selection.

..Delete this thread, it's not even worth discussing.

It's like discussing whether or not Rick Waller has something against Pies.
