The people who get fired are the dimwits who screw up on tasks. What has race got to do with it?

I don't he is racist. His 1st winner Tim was black and Saira was Asian who was runner up in the same series. They just had bad candidates from different ethnic backgorunds after series 1 although Saeed and Tre weren't too bad.

I think it's the black woman on the show who is always racist. They seem to have it in for the oriental lady for no apparent reason. Has happened previously too.

I don't think Sugar is racist. He's possibly a little sexist.
I think Sugar's main prejudice is one against academic types; he seems to prefer people from a similar background to himself - not well qualified on paper and from a working class background. |

Of the 8 main show winners, 5 of them have had University degrees, including ones from Cambridge, LSE, Bath and Cardiff. He doesn't seem particularly prejudiced against well-educated people to me, just people without business experience.

I've always thought this to be honest! I said to my friend before the series even started that the black girl would get fired first and surprise...

If he were prejudiced, surely he would prefer to hire people of his own kind, with Jewish, working class background.

Aware the OP's banned, but I'll bite. If you actually look at the statistics...
1. Tim Campbell 2. Michelle Dewberry 3. Simon Ambrose 4. Lee McQueen 5. Yasmina Siadatan (1.) Arjun Rajyagor 6. Stella English 7. Tom Pellereau (2.) Zara Brownless 8. Ricky Martin (3.) Ashleigh Exley-Porter Tim's black, Yasmina's mixed Iranian, Arjun's asian. That's 3/11, just over 25% non-white. If you include Susan Ma, another candidate he ended up going into business with, that's a full third of his chosen candidates, non-white. This in a country that's estimated 82% white. If anything, non-white people do slightly-to-significantly better than might be proportionally expected. (And no, he's not anti-white, either. :p ) |
