Samsung S4 Tech Help Needed
Recently i have purchased the S4 I'm so used to the I Phone's but there is some functions on the S4 that I'm find quite complicated:
1. On the right hand side of the phone with the small button, this sometimes allows me to turn the volume up/down and other times it allows me to switch the phone off. But on the left hand side with the larger button this also allows me to turn the volume up and down. Sometimes I am unable to turn the phone off as both buttons seem to allow the volume to be adjusted, is this a technical fault or a settings issue on my handset? 2. While I'm on a call every so often my handset gives a tiny vibration and at times the screen will light up and change to a notifications screen, is there anyway I can turn these functions off? 3. Also the pre loaded apps such as Ebay and many others that I do not use have filled about two pages on the phone which have taken up a lot of space, when I try and drag the apps to the bin at the top of the page it will not allow me to remove them from the phone. Am I forced to have these apps on the phone even if I do not want them? Thanks for any help or advice. |

Why the hell would Samsung force you to have Ebay as a locked app, I thought Apple was bad enough with Newstand. This just seems like the phones being subsidised by advertising.

My s4 didnt have ebay pre installed, maybe its a carrier thing.
You can disable apps that are pre-installed though. Settings, Applications, running, disable. |

Are you sure you're not pressing the volume keys at the same time, i.e. thumb on power and fingers on the volume side?
I sometimes hit the volume keys on my S3 when trying to press the power button. After about 8 day's I realise that's what I have been doing, silly me! But I have to say it seems quite badly designed that you have to hold the phone a certain way with your hands to switch it on/off without effecting the volume settings. |

I have no problem switching it off and my fingers are well clear from the volume buttons.

I just hide all the apps that I can't remove from the phone so that my apps screen doesn't look cluttered.
Simple enough! |

I think your ebay app must have been pre-installed by your Mobile Phone Provider.
My S4, does not have it. |

you are only deleting the short cut to the app, not the app itself. you need to go to settings/application manager to delete the app IF it lets you. if it won't let you delete it then it will say "uninstal updates". only samsung apps are usually forced on you, not ebay etc.

My S4 is full of bloatware crap, the thing is as laggy as a 10 year old computer trying to run vista, the battery life is appalling...... It's going back I'm waiting for the google Xphone or whatever it's called.
Samsung have turned into Apple and now think they can tell us what we want on a phone wether we like it or not. Most of their bloat crap cannot not be removed either!!!!!!!!. The S4 is a disaster. |
