My Wife actually said "hasn't she been on before", she does look very much like Stella, even down to the closed eye stare thing.

![]() But, besides that, she should've gone last night for being incapable of doing basic math!! The show failed to actually explain how the winning side won - having sold its beer at too expensive a price, too cheap finally. and at lower prices on its kegs. Its also unclear whether selling more kegs loses you the task- because we don't know the flask size and it looked, from what we did hear, as if the beer inside would have made more if sold in individual pints. It was a bigger problem that the producers making the show didn't ever explain why one team won -probably because they couldn't work out the maths to explain it. |

Haha - just looked Francesca up on the Beeb's candidate profiles page and she's listed as (amongst other things) the founder and director of a lookalike agency!!!! You couldn't make it up!

Its not basic math. Most of the population couldn't convert between percentages, millilitres, litres and whatever the keg contained in gallons or whatever. No one around her could work it out either.

It's not bloody applied astrophysics either. Anyone with GCSE maths should be able to do those calculations. I'm sick and tired of supposedly intelligent people basking in the "amusing" quality of being hopeless with numbers. Excusing Francesca because none of the others were any better is no excuse at all. It just means they were all dreadful. Our decent year sixes can convert miles to kilometres and vice versa and work out percentages as long as they have a calculator. They can also work out ratio and proportion. Shrugging one's shoulders and glibly stating that "I'm terrible with figures" is regarded as not only acceptable but actually kind of endearing. It annoys me immensely; there's no excuse for that many apparent "high-fliers" to be so incompetent when it comes to calculation. Stop using the idea that maths is difficult as an excuse to cover your own lazy shortcomings. Maybe a few capable individuals genuinely have a problem with arithmetic but most should be able to work this sort of thing out if they knuckle down, think about it and apply themselves.
I'll shut up now (*puts soapbox back in cupboard*). |

It's not just her though. Most of them remind me of previous candidates. I'm even convinced Alex had modelled himself on Raef.

I also think she looks a bit like Frankie (TOWIE). |

I think they were given a set amount of Beer to start with, so the girls wasted 2 kegs to start with, giving them less to sell. I turned to my wife at the end (seem to be turning to my wife a lot while watching the Apprentice) and said "how were both teams manufacturing costs basically the same, when the girls wasted 2 barrels"?

![]() How dare you compare the arrogant peasant that is Alex against the gloriously magnificent Raef. But yeah. As soon as the programme started I thought to myself, I might as well not learn her name.... I'll just call her Stella_2 During the first episode Sophie reminded me so much of Susan. Complaining about not being listened to whilst pretty much letting herself not be listened to and even chipped in a 'that's not fair' in the boardroom. |

I wonder if the producers deliberately put a Stella look alike in the mix this year.

Yep Susan does seem, to be hiding herself well at the moment, all she did was keep mumbling about lucky cats and China Town, instead of actually telling Jaz straight to her face, "it's a stupid idea", they like to talk to camera about the problems, so if it works out ok, they can't be blamed.

It was a bigger problem that the producers making the show didn't ever explain why one team won -probably because they couldn't work out the maths to explain it. http://slouchingtowardstv.com/2013/0...he-bitter-end/ This is how it works in real life too. Selling direct to the public generates higher profit margins (in terms of sales price versus manufacturing cost) because you cut out the middle men - distributors, retailers etc. (Of course, in the real world, you have to pay for premises, retail staff etc, which eats into that margin significantly.) However, selling to trade gives you access to the market and volume sales and means you don't have to set up your own retail operation. The key to this task is that neither team has to pay for retail overheads, so public sales are pure profit. And because the volumes they were manufacturing were small, generating high volume sales through the trade was unimportant. The team that won was always going to be the team that got their retail strategy right - Endeavour in this case. The fact they made a pig's ear of their trade sales had a relatively minor impact - it really was all about location, location, location. Hope that helps. |
