Well that scene was actually a hell of a lot better than the fall scene.

Ooh, Dr B, did you kill again?

Danny wasn't too bad there, no over the top stuff.

Shame it was quite slow paced, it needed to have a bit more umfph in it!

That was really poor not the writing as Sarah said, but the performances.

Danny was best.

The direction of them episodes just seems off. The writings good, a few capable actors, more bad ones. But no-one seems to be given any favours with the direction of it all. Just a really slow episode.

As Ayla said, out of the 'bad', Danny was actually really quite good tonight.

Exactly.
I also don't understand Mercedes. She seemed genuinely scared of him and... I don't get why? This is the woman who stalked Mitzeee, stabbed herself and got her sent down, almost threw her own son off a building... and she knows about Lynsey and is okay with what Paul did. Bah.

Yeah, that was like watching nothing happen.

Eh. Maul were mildly entertaining I guess.

Ste tomorrow tho *O*

The directing was shit. It's honestly that simple. No pace to it at all.

And like I said yesterday there was the attempt to make it look "good" with silly colouring and angles but it was very pedestrian. There have been weeks where nothing major hasn't happened at all where the directing was been better.

Even that beautiful fall shot was ruined by dodgy editing.

Yeah that seemed forced or tagged on.

She never batted an eye over him killing Lynsey. I didn't buy her fear. It was like they just wanted her to be scared because they want to paint him as a suspect. Or they're going to have him go proper crazy and she's saved by a Roscoe.

When watching this rubbish, all I can think about is how much better Brendan and Ste would be when reacting to these situations.

I mean, Brendan went flying out the house/screamed the hospital down when he heard Ste was in an accident, Ste screamed/cried and struggled against a police officer when Brendan was shot but when Dodger finds out Texas is dead he looks like someone just told him his tea isn't ready yet?

The difference in acting ability is ridiculous sometimes.

Yeah. I liked Anna Passey. I thought she was the one who nailed what her character would be feeling. Shock rather than extreme sadness. Concern for Dodger being her most emotional moment.

But the rest......

She was a very pretty corpse, so sadly the immortal lines, "Texas is a state."/"I bet she is" couldn't be reused.

I dunno, Danny got the shock pretty spot on in the end I think. I could imagine someone reacting like that.

Missed the first half, so can't judge them

I think that every person has a different reaction to these things, and I'm actually quite glad Danny didn't pull a Leanne and started screeching/crying in that embarassing way of hers.
That being said, I couldn't stop thinking about Stendan and how Kieron and Emmett would have killed a plot like that.

Yeah, I'm also glad he didn't pull a Leanne, Hanni, but I think for me personally, his reaction just needed a tiny bit more too it.

But he might not of been able to since he's meant to be a serious suspect

Yeah, I think she was pretty good. I think she's a pretty capable actress.

I'm probably being harsh on Danny, he was ok tonight but I think his reaction needed just a little bit more. I mean no one really showed any great emotion over her death, none well acted at least and I thought they were saving that for him, but I guess not.

Thanks Sarah.

What do we know about her?

I think James, Danny and (to a slightly lesser extent) Bianca all if left to their own devices, tend to put in lengthy pauses and be slow on cues. I think they mistake it for drama. They need a director who will pick them up on it, not one who is too busy composing prettily composed arty soft-focus shots to focus on the actors.

I guarantee Texas never said "Dodger" in her dying breath. If she had, we all would've heard it. There'll be a flashback to what she actually said.

Been thinking for a while now that Danny Mac has actually stepped up his game over the past year. He's largely seen as just a typical bit of pretty boy Hollyoaks eye candy, but he's been turning in some decent acting work for some time now. He's more than just a six pack.

Perhaps they're saving it for tomorrow?

I have to admit I was quite surprised to see everyone so... unaffected. Especially Doug, who was quite harsh on Leanne for no reason?
