Makes a change from the last couple. Maybe they've chosen the 'right' candidates this time ?
As in, entertaining ones ? After all, who wants to see boring, business-acumen folk running the show ? Not me

I completely agree; this is the best combination in years. My litmus test for that is if I can remember half the contestants' names by the end of the first episode (check), and all of their names by the second (check). 16 names is a lot to remember otherwise!
I'm also surprised by the general competence level of this series. Most of them seem pretty damn talented. There are a couple of standout muppets - Jason, Sophie - but the rest seem very capable. One thing this series is lacking is likeable characters, though I know it's too early to be saying that. I felt so sorry for Tim this week - I thought he was a lovely person, but just completely overwhelmed by the whole process. Even though I really liked him, I was urging Lord Sugar to make the right decision and fire him, and he did. Which has restored my faith in the series somewhat: over the past couple of years I've got accustomed to the fact that the least noticeable personalities go while the more noticeable, however incompetent, stay for weeks and weeks. |

I too am finding this series a treat.
Love the combo of candidates: tense boardrooms, good tasks, bitchiness and oxfordruse said: quite competent. Although I disagree I think Sophie is quite competent. Faves are Natalie, Leah and Jordan, can't wait to see how they progress. Luckily, Natalie and Jordan are Pms next week. ![]() One more thing - It seems quite different this series to last - the candidates are more exciting, but don't get on as well. And in the intro, they have those dramatic shots of the leaves whirling and water splashing under the tyres of LAS's car. And, new boardroom music which I don't like as much. ![]() But overall, I can't wait for what's to come!!

These two opening episodes are probably the strongest two opening episodes we've had since series 1 in terms of entertainment. I do still hope that soon we'll see some strong performances with some shrewd thinking and big numbers. I do like the business-y side the The Apprentice as well.
Yeah, this bunch has quite the animosity about its members... but I don't think this lot can compare to series 4's lot though... but then again, this series seems to lack any Raefs or Lucindas to balance out the darkness. |
