usually the x factor just does a bottom 2 and lets the judges decide who goes home but i like american idol's format of doing a bottom 3 each week, as it would help people like ella and james this year, laura from series 5, luice from series 6 etc... last longer on the show because there fans would know there in danger, only doing a bottom 2 every week doesnt show us who is close to the bottom as much as a bottom 3 would, it might save a few people and would make the show more interesting in my opinion.. it might also give us an idea of who really is leading the votes each week. i also think they should revile who the bottom 3 is near the start of the results shows, send one to safety and let us vote between the bottom 2 throughout the night and revile the results at the end, the sing offs mean nothing anyway

A bottom three wouldnt have helped Ella, she was never third from bottom. She was fourth from the bottom on several occasions before finishing dead last in week seven, but showing a bottom four would be a bit much.

Personally I think that the public should save the top 3/2/1 depending on numbers then the judges get to decide the rest of the people who get through.

I think they should do what X-Factor USA did and show the results of each week of who came where.

They're not allowed to do that over here.

Yeah I'd prefer a bottom three each week (Until it reaches the Top 6 or something). But I think that the act with the lowest votes should go home, sing-offs shouldn't really exist as they're pretty unfair. It should basically be the same format as Idol (Without a save though) and no categories with the judges competing against each other imo.

yeah i would like a bottom three tbh, however i still think i would like a sing off, they do add something to the show but i only like them when they are actually fair.

If they did a bottom 3 like Week 3 Series 3 they'd end up with a double elimination every week (Dionne, Kerry and Ashley)

Maybe they could reveal the bottom three - then tell the third from bottom they are safe, and have the sing off between the other two

It would have been interesting between Dionne and Kerry, as it was Dionne's second time in the sing off and Kerry's first, but Dionne was a better singer, so might have survived to sing another week
