Why is it when thinking of surround sound...
... the wife doesn't want wires around the place, so it's a no go,
why is it always the wives/girlfriends? What is it with females? |

It's because they consider wires to be something that makes the house look messy.
In that respect, you could claim the hoover, iron etc wires are also messy

But why always women?...they are such fussy creatures.
Why do they have the final say, why are some men such wimps, what are you afraid of? I decided to have SS, my partner has never made a fuss, I wanted it, I bought it, installed it, it looks a terrible mess behind the telly, but that's the way it goes. |

A1. Because Women's brain's are wired differently from Men's. That's why they'll never fully understand each other.

Simple. You hear the sound. She sees the mess. You both have to live with it. Don't count on her putting up with it forever. Find a compromise while you can.

I am a woman and I am the one who wants all of the gadgets, and I could not care less if I can see wires so long as the sound is good.
Perhaps you are with the wrong woman?? ( now thats another thread )

Don't think about a "wireless" HS system as a solution.
I installed one for someone once and it was a BIG disappointment. the "wireless" bit wa an infra red link to the rear speakers, but that just meant you had to find a mains socket to plug the receiver / amplifier into, and still run a cable between the two rear speakers. |
