Spaying my dog

Hi - long-time lurker, hoping for some help, please.

I have a Weimaraner bitch, two and a half years old, and as yet unspayed. Not because I'm irresponsible, but because she hasn't been out of season long enough to get the operation done.

She had her first season at nine months old, and the vet said that I could have her spayed three months after she finished. However, she's never got to three months yet, so the vet revised it to six weeks after.... Her last season finished at the end of March, so I had her booked in for mid-May but the last couple of days she's been getting broody, so it looks like another season is due and the vet won't operate.

Help! Has anyone else had this and what did you do? I'm sure she'd be much happier if she weren't a martyr to her hormones all the time, and my washing machine wouldn't be working overtime so much (she won't wear those dog-nappies....can't think why).

Our late manchester terrier Lucy came into season every 6 weeks ! In the end our vet treated her with hormones to stop the seasons and in the window that gave us quickly neutered her.

Ah, that sounds like it might do the trick - thanks!
