I'd take the first option over the second one any time.

Randy Jackson was awful on American Idol in my opinion, and I'd prefer not to see him on The X Factor US this year (or anywhere else for that matter).

There is a chance we will find out on Monday, as that is when the Fox Upfronts are, though with the lack of reliable sources running stories about who has been signed, I am guessing we will probably need to wait until the first round of auditions to know.

I agree with Dave0893. If you look at the last couiple of years, organisation has been a bit sloppy.

In the US, the panel and hosting changed after 4 days of audtions in season 1, Paula Abdul was confirmed on the day. And in season 2, there was no host until live shows.

In UK version last year, there was no fourth judge until the end of auditions.

So it wouldn't surpise me if it takes quite a while until have a 100% secure panel.

Since I follow Demi Lovato closely, I know she filmed an Ellen interview last week and said she knew who the judges were, so I'm guessing we will indeed find out on Monday.

I really wanted cher (the old one) on the panel. I've heard some rumors about this, and a few weeks ago she and demi followed each other on twitter, so I was kinda hopeful. but since simon doesn't want big names, it won't happen...I really wanted an older woman on the panel, poor simon is gonna be the only one there who's over 35 lol. I don't know so much about neyo and kelly, so I'll just have to watch the show before I judge. I hope they have good chemistry. demi is very easy to interact, she had a great relationship with la and simon last season, I hope this year she and kelly can get along. surely she's not so untouchable as britney was

I could actually see a Simon-Demi-Kelly-NeYo panel working very well.

I think this could work-

Simon Cowell (he's the anchor- the show is already going down like the Hindenburg in a rainstorm, they need him as an anchor), Katy Perry (she'd be expensive but would be worth it- she's got tons of charisma and as her stint on Idol proved, she's not afraid of being the mean judge), Ne-Yo (these shows so rarely cast current male artists- Ne-Yo is a great singer and producer, he'd be the perfect fit to work with the young kids on this), Demi Lovato (I'm not so keen on her but she proved to be quite a charismatic judge last time. Definitely needs to work on her mentoring skills, though)

The only reason I am doubting it was because we haven't had any reliable sources reporting on judges like previously, before Tmz, Hollywood Reporter and Deadline were giving us info, but literally nothing this year.

They all have strong outgoing personalities so it definitley shouldnt be as lifeless as Season 2

I think last year there were so many reports because, Britney is a huge name and everyone was reporting that she was joining.

That was done purely for the sake of drama. It might have been confirmed at the last minute ---but it was in no way last minute. I find the lack of drama about this years judges quite odd ---maybe we are in for a few surprises on Monday.

I just don`t see Randy Jackson happening anytime for this show. A lot of American viewers despise him for his bias judging in Idol ever since JLo`s time. Countless Standing Ovations for Joshua Ledet every after his performance even though when his performances were simply okay. And he`s also considered to be fired from Idol and saved himself from humiliation by "quitting" so I don`t see FOX rehiring him soon or him accepting another offer from FOX.

As for this season`s panel, I actually enjoy the mystery. It`s not as overexposed last year where everyone was talking about BRITNEY and how the show started to revolve around her. I like the silence and how it`s giving me A LOT of excitement! I am pretty excited if it`s gonna be Simon, Demi, Kelly and Ne-Yo. That`s gonna be one hell of a panel. Simon and Demi`s banter Round 2 added with Kelly`s feisty aura and Ne-Yo`s personality. It`s gonna be a good panel unless Ne-Yo and or Kelly gets intimidated with Simon.

I`m still hoping that there's a twist like Cheryl coming back but I`m now more than okay with Kelly. I am so excited now for the FOX Upfronts. But I do hope that they announce it during the upfronts because it is when networks present to their advertisers and after the collapse of Season 2, they really need to reassure the confidence of their advertisers.

Randy has left idol, wouldn't be surprised if he did it to work with Simon.
