of previous companions as we see by the clothes she is wearing in the NOTD trailer.

And maybe the REAL Clara is trapped somewhere, and she was being used as a trap to lure the Doctor to Trenzalore.

And I must say...

Spoiler
Can't WAIT to see Betsy on the road again

No it really does... They're wearing similar clothes... You just took it a step further and suggested she might be trapped somewhere... I hadn't thought of that... And the car has two of the letter s but that might be autocorrect?

I always thought that was my hearing... Interestingly Bessie is short for Elizabeth... And we had some queen references in the last episode and have had Liz 10 and Elizabeth the first in Who a couple of times...

Lol... They're also based on some spoiler Knowledge of the 50th and at least mine are from the same show.. ( I love your Ripley connection BtW did you spot the direct connection with Nightmare's Webly- pop culture reference to Ripley's believe it or not attraction...)

Aunt Bessie makes frozen Yorkshire Puddings and Crimson Horror was set in Yorkshire and Cold War had a frozen Ice Warrior.
Oh yeah, and Ripley Castle is in Yorkshire.

Jenna-Louise was in Emmerdale with Emily Symons who was in Home & Away with Guy Pierce who was in Lockout with Maggie Grace who was in The Following with..... Kevin Bacon

Kevin Bacon must be the GI.

Talking of echoes, River used a lipstick to kiss the Doctor, maybe Clara uses the kiss of life to save the Doctor.

That's an easy one Richard E. Grant to David Hayman (The Match)
David Hayman to Kevin Bacon (Where the Truth Lies)

Clara is the Rani obviously...

You swap the R and the C around, swap the L and the first A around and remove the other A "RALC" - L is two letters behind N so you make the L an N, then you have the C which is the first letter of Clara who is the Rani so she's the Rani.

Maybe Clara is an anagram of an acronym of "CAL And River" .... while we're being silly

Why would the writer need to do something like that when the most obvious common sense conclusion staring us in the face is that she's time travelling.

Along the same lines of "maybe Clara is an echo" - I'm starting to wonder whether Clara might be the FOOL of the eleventh. You know, as in a Shakespearean kind of fool - the smart doppelganger who points out/questions everything in plain sight. I'd thought this before (that “the fall” of the Eleventh might actually be “the fool”), but that final episode prologue has made me even more suspicious, because of how it seems to present the two characters as halves of a connected mystery.

Certainly, throughout the whole series Clara has given off the impression of being incredibly detached and robotic, like her travels with the Doctor are all part of her training (she's seemed less scared by dead bodies than *curious* about their "reality"). It almost seems like this is a Master and apprentice-style relationship that she has been groomed for *virtually* - maybe there's a school of Claras, and updated models (with tampered memories) get shipped out every time one isn't good enough/dies ?!

Anyway, I'm not too well versed in Who lore, but maybe the universe/Great Intelligence is trying to build its own Doctor, because the real one seems to be playing the role of rogue agent with increasingly gleeful abandon/developing too many uncomfortably close relationships? There’s always been something very meta about Moffat’s writing, and I could imagine him weaving people’s annoyance with the sexualisation/lovey-doviness of the revived show into his scripts – a sort of “ah, but it was all part of the plan. The Doctor’s been around humans so long he’s becoming vulnerable to their weaknesses, getting attached, and his enemies are starting to notice and exploit it!”. Let’s not forget, Moffat’s on record as saying about Sherlock that he finds asexuals boring, and that it’s people who abstain from relationships who are interesting (his controversial opinion, not mine haha!). I sort of sense a bit of that in where he’s taking The Doctor – maybe that the time lords trained themselves to cast off attachments based on sentiment, but the Doctor has become *infected* by his close proximity to humanity. Clara, then, could be an intended replacement – a savior with the perfectly non-committal heart of a … Dalek?!

What do you think - have I gone too far ?!!

Yes, I think Clara IS an echo. An echo of the other two that we saw in The Snowmen, and Asylum of the Daleks.

I'm very intrigued to see how Jenna plays Clara alongside Peter Capaldi in September. We've seen how Clara is with Smith's Doctor, but not Peter's yet, apart from the thirty seconds we saw towards the end of the Christmas episode.

I think, with Peter Capaldi at the helm, Doctor Who is going to feel more like it did during Tom's era, with a bit of David Tennant's personality thrown in.

Clara is an echo...the Echo is Liverpool's evening newspaper...Tom Baker is from Liverpool...Capaldi is going to bring a more Bakerish feel to Doctor Who.

Where Kevin Bacon fits in, I do not know but you may be onto something poohy...

Jenna has a Bacon number of 2.

She was in Captain America with Peter Stark who was in X men with Kevin Bacon.

I think I will have bacon with my eggs this morning. And then I will go out and exterminate some pests in the garden. Then I will watch AOTD to complete the Clara - Bacon circle.
