Yay - I'm so happy. She's worth way more than that much too. Especially if Britney was given $15 million.

Great news, Mel B wouldn't have worked well alongside Sharon but would work fine with Nicole. Mel B and Sharon (along with Gary) would make it far too bitchy and negative. Nicole will add a bit of humour to it all which is much needed.
Gary, Nicole, Sharon & Louis panel seems like a good line up, and it should have a similar dynamic to the current Britain's Got Talent panel. But anything would be an improvement on last year and the year before. |

I can't see the show surviving without the credibility and musical expertise Tulisa brought to the panel.

So the total bill is looking like:
Sharon: £1.8m Gary: £1.5m Nicole: £1.5m Louis: £1.0m TOTAL: £5.8m Quite a bit more than last year. Sharon I can understand. Quite how Scherzinger and Barlow found themselves in a position to argue for raises is beyond me. Imagine what they'd be getting paid if viewers weren't switching off in droves. |

Nicole because she went down incredibly well last year and she is realistically the biggest name X Factor UK will be able to attract. She was also on £750k last year despite not doing the full series series, so her pay per episode won't be as much as it appears.
Gary, I've no idea about. He's holding the show back by trying to emulate the Simon role which just isn't going to happen. She went down well last year in the press and online. But the ratings fell at the same rate as they did when they had Kelly on the panel the year before. It's not like things picked up as the series went along either. The ratings got worse and worse. She might have been popular online but I'm struggling to see that she actually earned the money. Because the only way to do that is to lift the ratings. Simon and ITV are being very very nice to the UK judges considering the performance of last years series. In the US, FOX have just fired all 4 of their American Idol judges and Nigel Lythgoe for ratings declines that were only a bit more than what XF UK had last year. And they've said they'll not be paying out anywhere near as much for replacements. |

Nicole is worth every single penny.
She was amazing last year. She deserves more than Walsh & Borelow combined! |

I think when it comes to judges salaries, and it's something FOX are now realising in the US, is that they're only worth it if they actually bring in audiences. Nicole isn't a big name anyway - she's famous in the UK mainly because of X Factor and she has no real options for her career outside of it.
She went down well last year in the press and online. But the ratings fell at the same rate as they did when they had Kelly on the panel the year before. And they've said they'll not be paying out anywhere near as much for replacements. You do make a fair point about a big name and after Aerican Idol/X Factor I doubt we'll ever see those kind of figures again, especially if you look at reaction to The Voice where Shakira is going down very well as Christina's replacement. Nicole isn't big as such, my point was more that shes active and successful. From the shows point of view, its better to have her sitting on the panel than Sinitta or even Tulisa who has had a string of flop singles and a flop album. Not a great advert for having 'the X factor' and finding the next big thing. It's not about the names themselves, but the image they put across. |

Can't stand her but the panel sounds like it could work. Thank god the awful Tulisa has gone.that's good enough for me.

I don't rate Nicole much.
Sharon is a pain. Cheryl has been the one and only decent female judge on X-Factor. |

Nicole deserves to return and deserves the pay rise. She went from being fired on the US show to being reinstated (on the UK version) to being very funny and charming, working hard and getting two of her three acts through. Her third is about to sign with C5 on their spin off Big Brother show, after being short-listed for the spin off X Factor show. That's some journey! She should be rewarded.
Really, they should never have sacked her from the US show as a panel with her and Kelly Rowland would have been fun to see. I'm okay with the panel and I think rating will rise this year. |

I think Nicole has been a great judge.
She was a good mentor to the boys last year and not only did extremely well with Jahmene and James, but also got away with putting Rylan through - not many judges could have pulled that off.

i do agree with most of what c14e had to say in terms of the pay rises and i also think these pay rises cannot be performance related considering the decline in viewers.
that said, nicole was the best judge last year in terms of results she delivered with her category and entertainment value. itv could have called her bluff and given the role to tulisa for a lot less money, but they would be compromising the panel in the process in my opinion. that is of course, assuming these latest reports are true.

This sounds like the most boring panel ever! if Mel B was there it would have worked but its gonna be really dull.

It's typical of any business that if you deliver the goods you can re-negotiate your contract when it's up for renewal and you are paid your worth - even if the company hasn't turned the profit it's enjoyed in previous years - in this case ratings. That's ITV's responsibility.
Nicole stepped up to the plate and did above and beyond everything that was expected of her. Two in the final - a third winning another reality show - and saving the days when the mic failed. The team of judges may have not been my choice but I think it's a strong team. Potentially, they could do very well. They just need some good acts this year. |
