I don't get the love for Seduce You though.

1. It's surprisingly good that we got the tracks in lossless format Means so much to me, 'cause I don't spend time listening to shitty YouTube rips.
2. Basically we got 4 new tracks, Fix You is a cover, a great one! Love it.
3. My faves are definitely Bouncy Hunter and Try. Was afraid in the beginning for Bouncy Hunter to be recognized as Man Down rip off but they don't actually have much similarity. It screams SINGLE to me :P Try definitely showcases her vocal (I'll have to get my ears used to the violins though).
4. Seduce You is a great R&B track, just don't feel Alex in it :/ It's too simple for her, can't stand those flat notes tbh.
5. Day Dream will grow on me with time.

The fact that I've already put the EP off, says enough for me
It may be because I'm kinda down today tho

Is it just me or does Alex sounds like she has a lisp in Try?

This. I don't feel Alex in Seduce You at all. They need to put serious money into her. That's all.

Yeah completely agree with you here. Maybe 'Seduce You (feat. Wretch 32 & Big Sean)' or something. Basically what Jessie J did with 'Wild'. It really reminds me of 'Body Party' though. It needs to be a promo single in America. I hope her team are reading this!

People need to realise that the intro LAM was a good idea. It features a Heart FM host and a Choice FM host (can't remember the others) at least and Alex's biggest obstacle atm is UK radio. A clever way to get them involved in the project.

Listening to some of the tracks, I really hope Vinylz, Rico and other producers have more of a presence on the actual album. JPL is decent but not good enough to feature heavily on the album. Sure Alex can't have a HUGE budget considering but there are producers out there who show promise and aren't big enough to rip her off.

True. And I agree. It's more a production issue on some of them (I'd say Bounty Hunter and possibly Seduce You being the exceptions).

I think it being free meant they weren't going to get any big names on it, you rarely do when these things are free.

Exactly. The fact that there are two great tracks (SY, BH) on this free EP suggests that there's even better on the for-profit album. They aren't going to waste her best material on a free EP. Anyway, I'm really surprised that they even got Wretch on there. He's not one of the elite rappers in either the UK or worldwide but he's still really respected and adored by Radio 1/1xtra.

A little bit disappointed with the EP. Not liking it except Bounty Hunter and what is the Leave A Message all about Absolutely dreadful.

If you've got a Windows PC I recommend getting mp3tag. It's such a good program and you can edit all the information in the file including the cover art.

True. They would save it to make serious money. Of course it could've been better. But it is what it is. e.g. No More You was great. But ummm...JPL stay away

I think he did her a favour tbh.

Yep, totally agree. It's an urban banger but it shows off her sultry tone so well. A remix with an extra rapper or two would be really good and get her noticed. I hope KWL pull some strings and make that happen.

And sort this label business out too. That's the most important thing. I think most of this was recorded when she wasn't signed.

Yeah I'm really anticipating some label news. All we know so far is that a couple of months ago Alex was in talks with several labels but a deal hasn't come about yet. I don't see how she can distribute her album properly without a major label so something needs to be sorted ASAP. I hope she goes back to the US soon. And while she's at it, she should shoot a promo vid for 'Seduce You'. Also where is that promo vid David was talking about?

It must come soon. She's off there in early September. And if I was in her position, I'd even offer to use a bit of my own money for production.

It came up on both for me, but it's because of the format I think, it only came up once I created AAC versions. It's in WAV at first.

Do they not get it? I'm sorry but I am goin to have a rant

Alex's best selling album was OVERCOME it was a mix of pop/rnb with really good uptempos, a few mid and 2 strong ballads. The Silence was the single that sold least from overcome- the others were all uptempo. HOH lost everything Overcome was and just became very commercial and not Alexandra however this is ok but not great either. They need to go back and look at overcome and the sales and realise this is what would sell, all night long pt. 2 is what I'm after haha

If you're only chasing Alex for commercial success, then you're not supporting her for the right reasons.

So what if Overcome was her best-selling album? She's only had two! It was a very commercial, pop album and was solid for a debut album but that was 4 years ago. She's progressed musically and I believe this is the music she wants to do. Her musical influences are nearly all R&B/Soul artists. Her debut album didn't reflect that - it reflected the dance music landscape of 2009 and Syco bought into it. 'The Silence' was the least selling single of her debut album because it was the last. What a ridiculous statement.

I'd rather Alex went down the Ciara/Frank/Kelly R type R&B route rather than her just chasing commercial pop sounds in a desperate attempt to stay chart/Capital relevant.

I want Alex to do well an that is Chart Success... I will support her no matter what but Overcome (IMO) is a brilliant album and the silence was last is no excuse it had an XF performance! I just honestly think they need to go back to why people loved her in the first place

Ciara & Kelly R's R&B is a lot different and more commercial than this gospel stuff Alex has come out with. I wanted her to go down the route of those two artists but.. she clearly hasn't.

They are going back to why people loved her in the first place. People fell in love with Alex on XF with 'Listen' (that was the performance that first made her top the vote and the duet version made her win). If anything, her debut album alienated a lot of her original fanbase and instead gained her fans who were general music buyers but not XF voters.

And in terms of chart success, who says she can't have chart success with this sound? Her going down the Overcome route won't do her any favours. Radio didn't jump on HOH, they won't jump on cheesy pop Alex. This R&B route is what could make Alex break into the US market, that's probably what got her the KWL deal. Electropop Alex wouldn't cut it in the States. Anyway, there are plenty examples of R&B albums doing well and getting radio support. Popularity doesn't just cover the UK singles chart.
