galaxy tab 2 charging problems

My daughters tablet seems to be not charging.

When its connected and switched on it makes a noise tp alert you its charging but has a red cross in the battery symbol. It also says discharging when you go into settings and the battery app in settings.

When switched off the battery symbol is orange/gold and does look as if its chsrging but again it isnt.

We dont have a second party charger and have tried all the spckets in the house aswell as a laptop usb port. Should I take this back tp argos? Or can it be fixed online?

I've had what looks like the same problem on a couple of occasions. It seems to occur when I forget that the tablet is on charge and manage to partially disconnect the charge lead when moving the tablet.
I surmise that it could be some form of protection being triggered because the plug is not fully engaged in the socket when power is running through it.
In my case I have a spare charging lead which is logoed as Samsung but may not be of course. I switch leads and it starts charging again and the other lead then works too.
I can only report what happens, not why!
I would suggest that it would be premature to say that the power adapter or lead are now faulty. It may be that the tablet is just sulking.

try pressing power button and volume button down at same time it will power down, power up and it should be ok worked on mine

Having the same problem. Won't charge at all. Tried my friends charger and that didn't work.

Any suggestions?

Are you using it? It'll always take longer to charge if you're using it!

Mine still won't charge and as it's only 6 months old, my daughter emailed Samsung and they emailed and phoned about the problem and arranged to post a padded envelope etc in order to post it to them so they can repair it. Postage was paid as well.

The envelope arrived today, tablet is all packed and ready to be taken to the post office tomorrow

Hopefully they can fix it and it won't cost me anything.

Tablet has been repaired and was delivered back to me this morning. Just need to add back all the things I had on it

My Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 is fussy about the charger if I let the battery go flat.

One day when the battery was flat it would not charge at all, I was going to take it back to the shop where I bought it, but fortunately the next day when I tried the charger again it worked.
