cake decorating
Hello All - my questions are there any pro cake decoraters on DS if so can you tell me whats the difference between royal and regal icing, i know that royal icing dries hard but does regal icing, or does it stay soft like a fondant icing.

What exactly do you want to do with the icing? I think Regal is the same as Royal Icing - it's more like a brand... Do you just want to cover the cake, make models, ice decorations? Let us know what you are planning and we can help with the type of icing you will need...

Regal Ice is fondant icing (knead, roll out and cover the cake) it will harden a little but will not go hard like royal icing made with icing sugar and egg white. Royal icing sets like concrete and it's always a good idea to add a little glycerine to the mix to help with cutting.
