Was just looking at this thread, and it seemed a general theme.

I personally just thought they all drunk too much, and most of them probably regretted it after, like all of us do.

A lot of drink was given to HMs that year, and not much to do.

One of the reasons I'd never go into BB in a million years.

I think it must have been the most drunken year ever.
I wish they would give them unlimited booze again but I suppose the health and safety fanatics would be complaining like mad.

I'm not sure, but I think they get complaints from around the area of the show if people are up too late nowadays.

Seems really silly, isolate them and allow them to have fun, would be the way I'd go.

It's a longtime ago now, but i think i'm correct in saying the hm's were in full control of the amount of money they could spend on alcohol from their shopping budget, and then drink it whenever they wanted to.

I can remember wincing at some of antics around the pool area, thinking any minute someone could fall and hit their head.

I can still remember the debate they had over the how to spend the final shopping budget which was a luxuary one.
Some wanted a 100 quid bottle of champers + cheap booze, while the others wanted to spend 30 quid on Champers to make sure they had enough booze to last them a week.
Needless to say they chose the cheap Champers.

Indeed and Kate was very merry on the final night if I remember correctly. Nowadays they'd be lucky to have a shandy any night of the week let alone the final.

Are you kidding? Pretty sure the HMs these days are pretty much given alcohol at any opportunity they can get away with.

BB3 was a notoriously drunk series. They received ridiculous amounts of alcohol. It's what fueled Alex and kate's lust for each other, plus got Jade into many an awkward situation.

Kate is one of my fav BB winners.

People who say that BB housing vain club 18-30 types is a recent phenomenon and that people were so much classier and dignified in the pre-BB5 years are wrong.

Admittedly neither were hateful as some housemates we've had since, but they, along with Jade, have a lot to answer for when it comes to housemates applying for the show as a stepping stone for fame.

(Good lord, BB3 was 11 years ago?! I remember it very vividly. Still one of the all time greatest series' )

Well people are wrong to say that. It started before BB3 too, most of the HMs from the first two tried their hand at a media career. Let's face it many of them stripped off on the first weekend, and daubed themselves over the walls.

That's very true Sean.....if that's your name.....which we know it's not. Ahem! 'Nasty' Nick for instance made pots of money, all based on his media image. Wasn't there something about a film premiere with Brad Pitt? I do also remember the likes of Sada and Caroline being seen in places like Chinawhites which caused no end of resentment from bratty hollyoaks stars, who's chief complaints appeared to be 'How DARE members of the public be seen in our place? How DARE
they???'

It's pretty much accepted that the housemates don't get the amount of alcohol they used to get. They may get alcohol most days but in BB3 days especially rich side / poor side they got drunk during the day which never happens nowadays. Also, I've never seen a drunk winner interview since Kate.

Nick was at the premiere of 'Snatch' with Brad Pitt, Vinny Jones and Guy Ritchie. They showed the photos to Mel when she got out and she was totally shocked

They seem to be restricted to one or two glasses at a time each these days. (unfortunately)
