Completely messed up the sales of the beer. The pup were willing to pay 80-90 for a barrel he sold it to them for 75.

Thanks. Only reading back the live thread on this forum you would have thought that when they came out of the pub, that the other two shouting at him had no reason to do so other than just being bullies. They had a perfectly understandable reaction.

I disagree, especially as they didn't get sales above the rate of £75 for the rest of the programme. If they had a problem with him, the professional thing to do is talk to him calmly, not yell in face just because he made a mistake so they can nail him in the boardroom. Whilst Jason made the mistake, they lost all credibility in the argument with the way they reacted (and the way they were treating him earlier, when Zee told him he wouldn't be selling)

The basic point is though that the rest of the deals in other pubs are not relevant to what happened in this one. Zee and Alex had already started the pitch with the guy stating they normally pay £80-£90.

It was such a basic mistake from Jason, it reminded me of Delboy buying the briefcases in the very first episode of Only Fools and Horses. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwKFc6jclK8

I don't doubt Jason made a key mistake. However, their reaction to it was totally over the top (Not justified in my opinion) and I got the impression that they were just dying to yell at him for something. I just found their criticism pretty outrageous when they couldn't do better for the rest of the task. I certainly accept that Jason messed up that pitch, but Zee and Alex aren't much better.

I think there's a chunk missing in the footage, because Zee was banging on about how he was sealing the deal at £80, but the convo he was having when Jason piped up was him saying they could bring it down to the higher cost. So either Zee doesn't know the meaning of "higher" or a lot went on, the deal dragged and Jason just seized an opportunity for time. (Although why £75 and not say £78- £79.99 is beyond me).

So Jason made one mistake, one that would've lead to him being rightfully fired if the team had lost, but there were other huge mistakes, like having no samples. That was something all three of them should've known, but no worries, the blame can be shifted to the other team for letting them go off without any.

As for the argument, it still wasn't as embarrassing as Paloma, Sandeesh and Laura on a shop step in Soho arguing about who gets the credit for selling t-shirts.

Although that's true, I can understand them getting emotional. Sales people don't like other people jumping into their pitch, whatever their reason for doing so.

I didn't notice Jason getting flak on the following task, so I don't think there's any on-going bullying or victimisation. It was just a one-off row because Jason did something stupid.

i think he was going for the larger sales at £75 rather than just 1 barrel at £85 before the brainy mafia jumped down his throat

I thought it was amusing that the subsequent deals they did were for less than £75 per barrell anyway if I remember rightly.
Maybe they realised that they couldn't actually get the higher value of £80+

From what else we've seen of Jason he's clearly a capable individual. I reckon he was going to suggest £75 each for 2, but of course couldn't when Zee interrupted. Also, it's very clear that Jason was trying to explain himself outside the shop (which would suggest he had a good reason for saying what he did) but couldn't get a word in edgeways with Alex and particularly Zee's barrage of insults. It's also obvious by the way they wouldn't let him get his say that they didn't care about an explanation from Jason, they just wanted to have a go at him for whatever prior reason... which in any case is completely unprofessional.

I felt extremely uncomfortable watching Zee and Alex shouting at Jason (irrespective of whether or not Jason mucked up the deal) - I thought it amounted to bullying and was surprised that they got away with it especially with Alex calling Jason a little sh*t. I thought that AS didn't go for this type of aggressive behaviour. Zee is hardly salesman of the year and I think he did alot of the shouting to hide his own weaknesses.
