It has an edge though, and you could place a large potted plant on it, with food for said item on shelf.

Word of the day could be "silence"...then you could have a joyful working existence, for a while that is.

Just reading the title on this thread here...the box on wheels wasn't even flatpacked. Shame about Sophie though but she did talk her way inadventely out of bein AS's business partner and he won't be into training ANYONE up at this stage!! Good luck to her....Jason is my fave to win so far, just for comic value alone...Task 1 was a hoot!!

Chair could have done with a bit of a vanish imho!!

When You're Fired bulged Natalie and Uzma's eyes they looked like Luisa.

It got the biggest laugh of the night at the recording of You're Fired too, along with Karren's rug-pull on the girls: loved the pitch, loved you guys ... hated the product ...

Loved this episode. I've always liked the product design task and this one had the rarity of a genuinely decent product idea too. And a box on wheels.

There were some genuinely brilliant one-liners too. Poxy boxy, heh.

Uzma's eyes are already weird and bulge. I think it's the coloured lenses that do it. She has an Essex girl look but one whose treatments etc have caused her to mutate!

Just watched it now having been distracted by the football - I thought for one moment during the pitches that a box on wheels was going to somehow win. Happy to see another win for the boys

Very sad to see Sophie go. She was never likely to win, but I think she was the wrong person to go on this task, as she carried out her part of the task fairly competently and did see the problems with the lack of clarity in the design. Natalie should have gone for failing to impose any order and clarity.

I felt sorry for the girls - they were already smiling in anticipation when Karren told them how much Argos had liked them and their pitch. Cruel Karren!

Lol, I was taken in by that - I cant believe those interior design shops were buying the boxes - can only put it down to the cameras being there.

That episode showed why most of the world's great inventions are by men.

It's also why you can never get great designs out of a committee.

Great blog, bits of your reviews made me giggle. I look forward to reading future installments.

just caught up on last night's show on iplayer and did have to chuckle a little at the shot of the guys crawling through that tiny door of the design studio

just seemed a little ironic that a design studio would have something so obviously not fit for purpose

Is it just me or should Francesca be fired instead? Or even Uzma a double-fire?

Poor Sophie, she's an obvious also-ran but hey she shouldn't go this week

Talking of words - 'strategy' hasn't come up much this series so far. Last year everything was about stratejaahhh.

the original concept the girls came up with was actually pretty good

problem was it wasn't feasible to do it within the constraints of the task and the compromises they had to make once they got into design and production ended up making it look like the cheap and nasty box on wheels it ended up as

I think the episode had a huge plot flaw or lack of realism. See my post about price of products.

It must be great for Argos or John Lewis to buy 2000 chairs for no price. Wow - what a concept. Sarcasm intended.
