I quite agree, I was enjoying it until last night and without Germaine I don't think I'll bother with it any more.

They aren't even going to let us hear Germaine say goodbye.

She wasn't above it when she walked in.

kenzie posited the notion that in our late industrial and pluralist culture the hegemony of academia has become a redundant grand narrative, sited as it is in a value system of texts that have calcified in meaning when set against the rapid flow of cultural fragments that inform and position our postmodern self.

Yes I agree. That's the big question - why the hell did she do it in the first place?

I'm sure she will review the programme on Newsnight Review on Friday.

He should just kick back, have a few beers, and keep it real.

Look at all the shopping they are collecting. Will John be getting a crate of diet cola?

Yes they have stand-ins. My local paper had an article about Julie Peasgood being on stand-by to go in.

I feel the same, but I'm trying to remind myself that I felt that way when Kitten left in BB5, and again when Emma left. And when Marco left. But it all turned out ok in the end.

Julie Peasgood (who?) as a substitute for Germaine Greer? Come on, you've got to be joking. Julie Burchill, now that would be just about an acceptable substitute.

I was only watching it because of Germaine. I haven't watched the last couple of BBs because I got bored with it.

Quality celebrities lined up in reserve, clearly.

from the front page of this site..

Germaine has stunned the housemates by twelling them she is leaving the Big Brother house as soon as she can. Her suitcase has arrived and she is currently in the process of packing.

"Happy! Happy! Happy! Happy! Happy!" shouted Germaine as the prospect of leaving dawned on her.

She hinted that she won't be the only person to leave. Germaine claimed she had "specific issues" and she was being "deliberately unfair" by staying in the house but refuse to discuss exact reasons.

Jackie quizzed Germaine berfore declaring that she would miss her. "I don't understand - you looked so happy last night. Who will take your place?" asked the new housemate.

"It's not my problem" smiled Germaine as she packed as soon as she could.

Maybe there's a movie out this week she really wants to review on Newsnight.

Or maybe Sandy is an inspiration to her, but her hip is too bad to go out the roof route.
