Stop them from leaving?

This is just my personal opinion, but I think the HM's shouldn't be allowed to leave the house early just because it's not what they expected, or because they don't like it. I can understand if they need to leave for medical reasons or if there's something going on outside that forces them to go (death in the family, etc), but simply deciding to walk out seems very wrong to me.

I know the obvious argument will be that C4 can't hold them against their will, but surely it's up to the producers to get contestants who are aware of what BB is all about? John is a classic example - he knows NOTHING about BB and now there's a risk he might leave, or be evicted, even though I find his behaviour very entertaining!

Get them in, lock the doors, and leave them 'till the end

Nice idea but not sure about the legal situation there. What they could do is put a clause in the contract stating that if they leave early that not only do they not get paid but they have to pay Endemol compensation equal to the amount they were to have been paid. Not sure how many would go in there if they did that though.

They should have changed the contracts from them not getting the money if they leave, to not getting oxygen if they do.

That's the problem - legally they can go whenever they like, but..........

Well the reason you gave(Ch4 cannot hold them aginst their will) IS the obvious answer. Its illegal to hold people against their will, so your idea is a non starter.

So the producers should put people in who entertain, not just get anyone who says yes to the pay check.

They should tell Mrs Stallone that she'll win the money if she stops all the others from leaving. I bet the local constabulary would think twice about barging into the BB house with Rambo's Mum guarding all exits....

It's a game show - not Guantanamo Bay!

i'd say the amount should be more like an average of all the amount they've made from each eviction phone vote over all the bb series - afterall endermol basicly will lose out on something like that amount.

That's the sort of thing they should be doing. If nothing else, it would make potential HM's think properly about what they're getting involved with if their fee is at risk!

If just seems that HM's are too ready to quit rather than deal with life in the house.
