Optical Toshlink S/PDIF Cable
My brother had a spare one of these. i have a Sky HD box just tried putting it into the optical out and it wont go in. Also tried to put it in my Yamaha RX-V363 receiver and it wont go in there. Tried it in the back of the PS3 it goes in there though.

Try removing the protective cover off the end before connecting it to anything.

I've had this problem, it's just sloppy manufacturing standards. My John Lewis cable fitted a Humax 9200 and our new Sony TV with no problems but was a very tight fit in a Humax Fox T2.
