Anchovy Paste, Any ideas on what I can use it with ?

Following on from another thread on here i bought some and used it as a background flavouring for stir frys................it was OK

make a change from what I would normally have - chilli pickle or soy sauce

As above you can use it as an alternative to shrimp paste or fish sauce.


You can also make a green sauce with it. Parsley, capers, garlic, anchovy paste and olive oil etc.

It's great in a fish pie. I add a little dollop to lots of things, including bolognese, shepherds pie, any stir fry, because it adds a deep savouriness.

Drop some in your gravy.

You could make tapenade by adding olives, garlic, etc. Lovely spread on toast.

Add it to fishcakes for a bit of extra fishiness.
