So now we know who Clara is whats going to happen next series? Will she just be an echo or will the Doctor have actually saved her? Anyone think there are any chances of romance with the Doctor?

I think it will be the proper Clara.
I also think her mind will have somehow merged with the Great Intelligence whilst in The Doctor's time stream giving her incredible knowledge, like we saw from the version of Clara/Oswin in AOTD.

Didn't she already get that when she was uploaded to the database in The Bells of Saint John

it does mean if it is Clara the Original and she remembers everything from her time with the Doctor and her time spent saving him then she will know his name from the time in the Library on the TARDIS. One thing I can't understand is how she survives knowing all that though? Surely having the knowledge of a million lives scattered throughout time and space is too much for one human mind.

No doubt something will happen in the 50th though to cause her to forget Reset buttons and all that.....

Oh God I hope she doesn't forget it all. Really undoes any character development.

If it is the original Clara we see next series, will she know there are millions of versions of her running through time and space. I just don't understand how it's going to work :/

Regular Clara having adventures with the Doctor.

She will not only know, but she will remember being them and living in hundreds of different places all over the universe. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Clara does remember what she's done and what she's seen. It's clear that she does in the 'Prequel' at least (which happens after Trenzalore).

Jenna said in a recent interview that her and the Doctor are really bonded by the experience and closer than ever when we see them next.

The thing with Clara though is that she hasn't just been somewhat cloned millions of times, she has actually lived millions of full lives, each different, up until she saved the doctor, so now she knows and remembers her lives, how can she just live a normal life? Her brain would burn up.

Finished, I hope, done her job.

No romance with the Doctor, please.
Hello.

I think they've been building the romance for a while, the flirting was there from the start.

Especially with the River Song story seemingly having some closure.

The Doctor really does NOT need romance, please.
I want just good old-fashioned Dr Who adventures.

Yup and the unsubtle subtext speech in Hide about two people separated by accidents of time and space. 'It's not a ghost story, it's a love story!'

I do think however that Moffat will keep it mostly subtext. It very much seems though that he's writing them as two people who love each other.

She's not Donna, so I assume she just can live her own life whilst remembering the ones she's had.

Yep, and lets not forget the skirt comment...

I'm not quite satisfied.
The Asylum of the Daleks episode is still an odd one.
I reason that Clara's appearances in various events were to save the doctor.
But there's something not quite right about her appearance in this episode.
It's arguable that she saved him in the true sense more than simply being there.
OK, she did save him as she didn't exterminate him.
But by that time, she'd lost her identity completely.
I know she's clever and I suppose there's ways to explain things but... it just doesn't feel right.

I think that she really does die in the Asylum of the Daleks.

I thought her appearance in the Asylum made sense. "Never met you" was obviously an intentional red herring by Clara, and then of course there's her random coy look to the camera.
However "The Snowmen" is more difficult to believe. She seemed genuinely impressed by the TARDIS and occasionally slipped into her Cockney accent in front of the kids, although those who thought her Cockney was bad would probably be satisfied with the explanation now.

When did she say this?

Characterisation, hopefully.

ETA: TBF, just building on some of what we saw in TNOTD, which despite being plot-heavy, did a better job of making her seem more of a person and less of a plot than the rest of the series. IMO. (My thoughts here are terribly badly explained, I apologise. Gin.)

Being in the dalek allowed her access to the 'mainframe' which allowed her to drop the force field so the Doctor, Amy and Rory could get out. Also, she wiped the daleks memories of the Doctor and hence rid him of a big problem. She very much saved him.

Does this mean that Clara now has to be in every episode from now on, as she's always the one who saves him?
