Clara telling Doctor #1 to take 'this' TARDIS
John_McG

If Clara hadn't changed his mind, William Hartnell in 1963 would have taken a different TARDIS.

- So does this mean that Clara HAS ALWAYS been responsible for the choice of Tardis? ie that interjection has always taken place.

- Or does it mean that the Tardis we have known him to be travelling in for the last 50 human years has now been re-written and everything has happened with the Tardis Clara changed his mind to in the S7 Finale?

- I can accept that The Doctor 'just misses' Clara a lot of the time, and that Clara is always there but 'just not quite loudly enough' - but that was a definite interjection at a crucial turning point in his own life which he would surely always remember.

I think he should have found her familiar right from the start, but not quite able to place her. That would have tied up nicely with all the shots of her meeting him at different times.

It must have always happened. The things we saw Clara do in his timestream clearly happened because he met her in the Dalek asylum and Victorian London.
his mind to in the S7 Finale?

One girl he met for less than a minute whilst a bit distracted when running away 700 years ish ago? Yeah, I can buy that he didn't recall her.

I think she just put things back the way they were he originally picked the TADRIS we all know (or it picked him) but the GI changed that so he picked a different one maybe one what would have let him down along the line so Clara just got him to pick the right one

Perhaps the idea is that Clara telling him to choose that particular Tardis was like an unseen whisper in his ear - you know, when you feel something but don't necessarily know why.

I guess???

or the GI just undid every decision the doctor made and so it was Clara who had to resume the status quo?

That's good - I can square the question with that explanation! Thank you

I'm with this explanation...it then doesn't rewrite extablished Canon or cheapen it.
