Saying that I prefer them to not bother at all and then we can use a tin opener. i know of someone who can't open these tins as they got limited use of their hands, so they need a electric tin opener, the problem is these ring pulls gets in the way and jam the tin opener.

So what may make it easier for me and you, makes it more difficult for some disabled people. His care worker have to pull the rings off his cans, making sure they don't open.”

If the ring pull gets in the way of the can opener why not just turn the can over and open the bottom instead.

I prefer ring pull cans but always have my trusty can opener as well just in case. I think the ring pull cans are handy if you're camping as you can often forget to pack the can opener.

I have voted no as my mum has arthritis. I do like ring pulls better though. If only it had a "normal"side that could be opened by electric tin opener or a manul one and a ring pull. I like tuna but the ring pull tuna is so expensive.

People have their own likes and dislikes, but I honestly can't understand why some have chosen the no vote for. I mean, do they not want to make life easier for themselves? With a ring pull, all you've got to do is stick your finger through it and then pull. With a tin opener, you've got to make sure you get the blades in the right position and then start cutting and stopping etc until it's gone right the way round the edge of the tin. Ring pulls are so much more easier and quicker.

I don't much care about ring-pulls (I have a decent tin opener), and I'd rather the government didn't get involved.

I am far more bothered by tins which don't stack well. Some tins have a bottom rim that fits inside their top rim, so they can be stacked without sliding and falling. Tins which don't are much harder to store.

Oh yes. This bugs me bigtime. Well and truly one for the 'Trivial things that annoy you intensely' thread!

I voted no because I don't think it's the sort of thing governments should be legislating for, that's the sort of thing the marketplace should decide. I'm surprised so many want to see MPs wasting their time on such things - the sort of thing that would cause outrage at the Daily Mail if it came from Europe.

I do prefer ring pulls though.

I prefer ring pulls. I have trouble opening tins with a tin opener. I can only assume mine has got blunt, but its difficult to to get some things open, especially if there is a dent in the tin. I might have to invest in a new one. BUT, if everything had ring pulls on I wouldn't have to bother.

NO Buy a good quality tin opener, and you will not have any problems
