My lovely mother, being a fan of "lets-buy-the-cheapest-possible-thing-on-the-Argos-card", brand of shopping has lumbered herself with a BUSH BLCD32HB.
The problem is that I visit her frequently and due to partial deafness I often need to use headphones. However this set has no headphone socket whatsoever, which seems very strange to me. I tried to see if I could connect it to my hi-fi amp and use the headphones that way, but there is no analogue audio out to connect the amp to that I can see.
The TV is connected to a Virgin VHD box, but it seems there are no analogue audio out/phono connections there either.
The connections on the TV are;
3 x HDMI in
1 x Scart in
PC/VGA Audio in
PC/VGA in
Digital Audio out (appears to be a phono type socket)
USB
Common interface
VIdeo in (phono type socket)
R&L Audio in (phono type sockets)
Y, Pb/Cb, Pb/Cr
AND NO HEADPHONE SOCKET!!!

VHD Box connections
SCART
HDMI
RGB
CVBS
Optical audio output
Ethernet port
USB port
I have an old hi-fi amp, which obviously has phono sockets and I have a VCR somewhere. I mention this because I remember using a VCR, with a pre-amp (disco mixer) to provide headphone utility to an old CRT TV, although I can't remember how and I'm not sure it would be applicable here. In any case I'd prefer a more elegant solution than connecting up an extra two large units. I can't afford to buy a fancy AV amp or anything like that.
Thanks for any help...
...and don't buy Bush if you're hard-of-hearing!
