Pink Floyd's The Wall.
I would go with that, although a lot will disagree, because I wouldn't class all the songs on it as great, but when played all together it is amazing.

I find Another Brick In The Wall quite ordinary as a single, but when it comes in on the album, it works brilliantly.

I've got my tickets to see Roger Waters perform it live in September, and having seen it last time he toured, I cant wait. One of the best shows I've ever seen.

Pink Floyd's The Wall.
I should really check this album out after all these years.

I don't really know much about their music except the song MONEY. Love that.

Reading that back I don't even think Pink Floyd wrote MONEY.

Christ I'm losing the plot.

Sun Kil Moon - Ghosts of the Great Highway
I bought that album after hearing Salvador Sanchez being played in a shop. I thought it sounded like a British indie band, but was so disappointed when I played the rest. It was like a compilation of Neil Young rejects and nothing like the track that made me buy it. I copied Salvador Sanchez and gave the album away.

That's from Dark Side Of The Moon, the third best selling album of all time (according to Wiki). If you are not a rock fan....well you probably won't like it, at least not on first hearing. Needs a few listens all the way through.

Madonna's True Blue.

A perfect pop album, great on a hot summer's day, chilling with friends and a long cool drink.

It boasts

3 uk number one singles
A big ballad
A Spanish influenced track
Great videos to all the singles
Probably the most iconic photo M ever had taken used as the album cover picture

And it's her best selling album to date and made her a global megastar.
I'm sure you love the album and everything, but I never understand when people say things like "3 uk number one singles", as a justification for it being the perfect album to them. Why would you care if other people liked it? Same thing about the 'global megastar' thing- who cares? Hardly a good reason for describing why it's such a perfect album to you, but that's just me. Just makes it look like you only like it because other people do.

I'd like to add "I Speak Because I Can" by Laura Marling. I think that she strongly smashed the second-album-curse with this one. Her songwriting has really come on a lot since her first album. I had the pleasure of seeing her live last year and she is amazing. I'm a huge fan.

I also love "Crazy For You" by Best Coast. I play that album a lot in the summer.

Having recently listened to "It's Not Me, It's You" by Lily Allen, I'd like to add this to the list too. I think that this is really solid album.

"Lungs" by Florence + The Machine gets played a lot by me as well. I love this album.

Amy Winehouse - Back to Black
It's taken me a long time (god knows why) to add this album to my collection. I listened to it in full on Spotify for the first time the other night and I bought it soon after. I'm listening to it at the moment.

There is not one song that I skip.

Britney Spears - Blackout
I do believe that this is Ms. Spears' best album. I was listening to it in my car the other day.

As many of you already know, I'm a massive Paramore fan. I love this album.

Lana Del Rey - Born To Die + Paradise.
As others have said, Lana has the amazing ability to tell a story through her songs. I never get tired of listening to her and often discover new meanings in her lyrics even after so much time spent listening. 'This Is What Makes Us Girls' has to be one of the most beautiful yet haunting pop songs I've ever heard.

Rihanna - Rated R.
This is such a dark, emotional record and you can really tell she was channelling the anger and hurt over her split with Chris Brown into this album. It has really beautiful songs like 'Te Amo' but still has that dose of necessary club hits like 'Hard' and 'Rude Boy'.

Katy Perry - Teenage Dream.
Some people may laugh at this choice but I believe this is a brilliant example of a lighthearted pop album made well. It's not a groundbreaking masterpiece and isn't trying to be. It's just a fun, upbeat album that blends sweet songs like 'Teenage Dream' and dark songs like 'E.T' together perfectly.
I love all of these albums. It took me a very long time to get into Lana's music. I had bought the Paradise edition of Born To Die and had it sat on my shelf for a good three months before really loving it. This album is best played at night whilst driving, in my opinion.

Rated R is Rihanna's best album, in my opinion. That is closely followed by Good Girl Gone Bad.

Teenage Dream is just a solid pop album, in my opinion. I have the complete confection edition.

Christina Aguilera - Stripped
I played this album to death when it came out in 2002. It still sounds as good today as it did then.

The Upper Room - 'Other People's Problems'

A perfect pop record, not a weak track and the only album they ever made, so a perfect pop story as well!

Foxy Shazam - Foxy Shazam (emo, alternative, experimental major label release, with fantastic songs & production)
Family Force 5 - Business Up Front, Party In The Back (really really fun rock/crunk album)
Kid Rock - Devil Without A Cause (kid rock was still relatively unknown upon its release, but he had attitude & swagger & unbelievable confidence. It's rock/rap perfection).
Slayer - Reign In Blood (brutal classic, everyone should own this album, I don't really like slayer, but this is a must have album).
The Mooney Suzuki - Alive And Amplified (take a garage band from New York, team them up with the matrix producers & you have a well polished album with brilliant studio trickery)
The Sisters Of Mercy - Floodland (perfect gothic album, the 10 min 55 sec version of This Corrosion is a particular highlight)
Tommy Sparks - Tommy Sparks (pop/rock brilliance with great songs)
