What's That About When it's at Home ?

I’m feeling a little bit peckish
Not like a bird pecks
More like a bunny
But not at it like a rabbit
In a donkey jacket
Just a nibble
Like a cat and a fiddle
Drivel.

I could eat a horse
I won’t of course
Because there’s a fly in the ointment
There’s a cart before it
And that’s made of wood
Would be like chewing a wasp
Probably a disappointment.
Disjointment.

Might have a bag of crisps.

I shall have to has a go.

I'll call it Nine Parts.

Per see cute me, let me know,
how I am so so far below
your X pectations of me now.
I am not your holy cow.

Pleeeeeeeeese re lease me
let me show
how I am lost - yet all aglow.

There's a place. It is right here.
Where all may live without the fear.
I can not bear this much more
for it is not what life is for.

Once again we shall persist,
or I am not nine parts pissed.

Pathologetic.

Some say God's authority
outweighs seniority
and sexual frivolity
and personal ontology.

Some say cosmology
outlives all theology.
Others, that astrology
purposes pathology.

Some (with apology)
claim sociology
blends with biology.
All hail psychology.

I like technology.
Economy, ecology
and anthropology.
I blame my neurology.

Helicopter butterflies
flew over me, causing lies.

Thank you Biz. Good to see you here. I had to get back out of bed and fire up the computer to add the last two (unrelated) lines. I blame my imaginary friend. She's always giving me lines when I'm washing up, or just got comfy in bed.

iPod, Therefore I Am

Texting, texting, texting,
Addicted to weird babble
Until they buy the next thing
From boffins who must dabble.

iPod, iPod, iPod,
It's such a boring story,
For if an iPod's your god
You'll miss all nature's glory.

A clever ode on the various 'ologies' that man has devised I guess definitions are essential, but intellectuals get bogged down in them at times.

Nice one John

I came across this in passing and thought I'd share the link:- http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/20...japanese-maple
I would click on it - but is it a noisy link Izzy? I don't want to upset the library

Love you so
Love how because
Love lets you
Love see where
Love remembers love

You was You

I knew you was you
as I have been
as you that was
as though I've seen
never though as indifferent to
but who you be so with as keen

Worth Trying.

I am an atheist.
My psychoanalyst
told me I won't be missed.
I punched him with my fist.

I find humanity
rhymes with insanity.
Perfect profanity.
Tiny gigantity.

All things great and small.
Slow to rise, quick to fall.
Many sided by decree.
Not somewhere I'd want to be.

Conscious dreams a better place
where no one would deface
ancient signs of olden times,
amongst their many other crimes.

Makes me wonder. Makes me sad.
Is it because I'm bad?
If I say my prayers today -
will this nightmare go away?

Gone.

Forum's deserted
threads all dead
shouldn't have blurted
what I said
can't face the facebook
alone in bed
Everyone's gone

Dreams full of people
fast asleep
dreaming illegal
dreams so deep
then when I wake up
and arise
Everyone's gone

Galaxy people
on the moon
think we are feeble
coming soon
Maybe good riddance
and so long
Everyone's gone.

It's not often I read something that makes me laugh and then feel really sad in the space of thirty seconds.
Your psychoanalyst needs the sack

Snapped

Is there room here
to park a poem
so full of worth
and meaning
with depth to move
to touch
mind
soul
heart
to catch
a rising moment
in words
snapped
at 1/1000th-of-a-second
fully developed
fixed
mounted
caught living
present
breathing
evolving in meaning
at each reading
kept alive
by the eyes that see
the minds that understand?

Artist at work
(or - don’t ever bother to read out poetry at the Plymouth Cooperage’s Tuesday Freak-Jam Night)

Shut the f*** up
and pay some attention,
artist at work,
shouting out words
chosen, positioned,
with perfect intention,
read
with perfect inflection.
A fine delivery,
attention to detail.
So the least you can do
is show some respect
with your silence and attention
in recognition
of the talent in front of you.

How many of you, out there,
have the balls
(and this includes you, madam)
to stand here
and perform your creation.

Words and verse,
rhythm and rhyme,
allusion and image,
visionary perception,
to enrich the mind
and elevate the soul.

So shut the f*** up
and give your attention,
show your respect
to an artist at work.
