Well, take solace in the fact you are not alone archiver ..... and I'm sure, despite it's being a bit grim now, it'll all work out swimmingly, probably xxx

![]() Few really 'laugh out loud' online and I couldn't if I wanted to (I'm on the second floor of the library, where absolute silence reigns). Reggie's Veggies is completely hilarious and has shades of Ernie, Benny Hill's classic number one ![]() I sense Reggie may have met Archibald the Trumper before his flight to Peru ![]() ![]() Never been to Margate, but it sounds a bit like Blackpool used to be years ago before the decline of the great British seaside holiday . Massive shame, but time and tastes change I suppose . A glass of vino under the olive trees has taken over the stick of rock and the donkey . |

Alone after the battle
Many years in the red coat have flown, And here I sit, on this Spanish hill, and weep. With time to feel, for the first time. And from my darkened soul comes, with pain, A glint of light, I think.

It's said "it's better to have loved and lost
I'd rather not have loved at all. I'd rather have been left alone. Because now I'd be partying, having a ball Instead of sitting here feeling like a proper SUCKER !!!!! Great last line despite the meaning . |

Limbo Dancer.
How low can I go? Depends if the stick is balanced to know that my little trick is hard to show. How high can I jump? Depends if you trump me with your last card. At least a yard. How deep does it get? The more you fret the less you see the strategy. The wherewithal? The siren call? To arms held wide with love and pride for joy of life that full of strife is not your wife. The end? No way. A friend to play with for a change. She's a bit strange. ![]()

Hope you feel better writing that down . There aren't many people who can't understand the sentiment of your poem .
Great last line despite the meaning . I DO feel better for writing it down. I guess it's cathartic ![]() I must avoid the temptation to drone incessantly about it though, it's time to move on now. *everyone I know breathes a sigh of relief* |

Arwen Evenstar
As mithril jewels seen from afar Or dew on silver turf, What beauty Arwen Evenstar Possessed in Middle-earth. Her eyes were like a cloudless night, With soft transparent lace Her dresses left a pallid light, As did her pretty face. Despite the weight of decades she Remained forever young; A flower fair for all to see Who spoke the Elvish tongue. Her loveliness was unsurpassed And poets still respond, But Arwen Evenstar has passed Into the mists beyond. © |

I never knew they taught limbo dancing in the 30's!
![]() ![]() I've just looked the word 'Limbo' up and surprisingly it's a word that's only been around since the 50's. Still a little bit before my time ..though not by much

Energise.
Ever since the big banger. No great surprises. Tolerance breeds anger. Anger energises. Now we are to tolerate the sadly underrated. Excuse me while I cogitate on what's understated: That angry in a bottle is likely to explode. Previous besottle was not any road, but straighter and narrower and planned to succeed. Now some crazy farrower is going full speed. The shaken and the stirred are making their lists. Meanings nicely blurred by their shaking fists. The enemy within can not do without sound byte spin to boldly shout and call to arms on all sides. Never mind. God provides. Well grr I say and also Grr. Grey matter churns and whirrs and out pops another rhyme. Thought cops - forgive my crime. |

The Others.
Through ends of my extremities I feel the world at large. I sends out my remedies. I never charge. Others insist I must pay for my existence, or I'm in the way. Others are so devious. Can't work them out. Some exceed egregious and have no doubt that theirs is the concept right as rain. Others, from the onset like - not this again. In other worlds and other words where did we go wrong? Tribulated tribal herds sing the fighting song. Marching to glory? Well I'll be blowed. Guts look so gory on that well trod road. I'm glad to be no other. Individuality separates me from my brother's stupidity. |

![]() Yes very OK. OK ? The first would make excellent lyrics for a rock song . I tried to do poetry on stage many years ago. It didn't go well, but the audience was polite and the main act were encouraging. Maybe I'll try again sometime. Not so timid these days. |

There was a young man from Dunstable
Who was an annoying constable He'd prod with his stick Like an unwelcome prick One would think he was mentally unstable |

The Boy in the Empty Cove
Hold me not, to future’s yawn, Oh glorious summer day that gives. To bring me here this lovely morn, That I might breathe your air and live. Time will never come to mind, But leap into each day, then go. To see what God, and all mankind Bestowed to us that we might know. To stay or go, is in my hands, A freedom blind, and yet enjoyed. Power to fly with wind, o’er sands, In skies that warm this blissful boy. |

Moving On.
Initially I felt quite sick
My chest felt full of lead on the day you turned to me and this is what you said .... "I don't want you anymore I really just don't care". A look of hatred on your face a sneer firmly planted there. I never saw it coming The shock took my breath away. I really had no idea How to live through that awful day. For 11 years you told me I'd be the ONLY one. You said you'd always love me In this life and beyond. But now the shock has run it's course The pain has been and gone. And in it's place a sense of peace and freedom. Sadness? None! I looked back on what we had And do you know what I found? 11 years of being tied, suffocated and bound. You fed off me, drained my soul Gave nothing back to me. And now you wallow all alone And me? Well I'm now free. So take your parasitic ways and find another fool. You can't survive on your own I KNOW that to be true. Whilst I am really very good at being just the one. I don't need you. Big surprise! I'm overjoyed you've gone! |
