Here is my first attempt - total rubbish but at least I had a go.

White shark.

Eyes of obsidian black.

Power and merciless serenity of a God.

Ruler over oceans of time.

In danger from a sapient pygmy.

I don't think its total rubbish .... it paints a clear picture in a few words.

That's not so easy to do. I certainly have to blurb on endlessly to get the same result so good on you

That's very powerful Keyser. I think you are in a good place to right about the animal world. I don't think there has been a dinosaur poem in this thread

And no matter where you are at
No matter how hard it is for you
Let the scene come shining through.

I felt quite rough
When my life got tough.
But I got through
and now I'm tickety boo.

At my very worst
I knocked out a verse.
I wrote another one
and then continued on.

It's better than moping,
and a great way of coping
with stuff that knocks us flat.
Enough already of THAT!

Past Ten'ts.

Oh purple tin of amber nectar
gurgle deep within conjecture
numb my gums and slither down
soon the biggest clown in town.

Big T frosty from the fridge
Refreshing as a new religion
based on what is truly known
and what in fact can be shown.

The squelch of the ring pull
half a litre hand full
shhhhhh as the frothiness
prepares to make me a mess.

First taster instant thrill
tastier than any pill
soon followed by another
and another and its brother.

But, alas and alack
here I sit on my jack
without a drop to my name
which really is quite a shame.

Considering it's been so long.
Considering, but still strong.

You can read many books on the war, but I find poetry captures its tragedy more intensely. Armistice Day wouldn't be the same without verse.
