I've got up to page 135 and now my eyes are starting to hurt I'll try to catch up on the rest soon. It's nice outside, so I'm going for a stroll

Speak soon my friends

Strictly Naff

Ed Balls is gonna dance,
He hasn't got a chance.
So will Dave Cameron, now he's gone
Put his own Pasa Doble on?
Anne Widdecombe got in a mess,
Though jiving MPs don't impress,
The one thing worse than all these thoughts
Is Jezza shuffling through the waltz.

Indeed. I was going to fix a fence one day, years ago, but didn't get far with it. Next day, new owners of the house next door put up an entirely new fence!

Thanks for all your comments too Musty. Not long now before the first copy of your new book rolls off the presses. Having something like that to hold is so different to just having access to stuff on the Internet, or in a file.

It'll be back. I seem to get my best ideas for a first line or two when I'm washing up, or in the shower. The more I think I'll surely remember, the more likely I'll forget.

All hither and thither and all a dither

Unconditional?

Unconditional love.
What is that all about?
It seems to work well for dogs
Just feed them and take them out.

And the bond of mother
with the child she has grown
seems pretty unshakeable
once that child is born.

Romeo and Juliet?
THIER love fits the bill
But they are fictional characters
Created for us by Will.

So take note and be aware
when your love gets in a rut.
It's never unconditional
When they say "I love you .. BUT"

True John - I much prefer pages to posts. I'm not a very confident person, but the feedback from friends, on DS and on a poetry site in America has made me push on with the material. I have to go with the internet for now; what I need is a lucky break, to find someone in the real publishing world.

Excellent Keyser - the piece reminded me of a haiku. If a poem conjures up powerful images, it's working in my opinion. I saw a blumming big shark

I must agree with your comment Ruth. Writing poetry is really good therapy. Even if you don't rate yourself, just the act of jotting down feelings can lift a burden. Not all of my poems are personal, but I find those that are can resonate deeply with others.

Yeah, what's that all about? Surely real love has no conditions. I like the way you brought in dogs and Shakespeare to make the point Ruth

Phew, I think I've caught up at last! I won't be back until Tuesday and hopefully I'll have a poem to post as well

Keep on trucking everyone - I'm off now as the pub beckons
